I restarted recently using leonArdo and I'm delighted by the new BB strategy.  Grin

I recommend to the devs to have a look to this article for a new very promising strategy:

Thanks for the link! Just started reading it.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Nice BTC balance you got there.
As far as I know leonArdo is not capable of DCA, perhaps in the future it will be.

Hi,

from looking at your screenshot the ADA market on Poloniex does not have enough liquidity to get you a better price.
Seems as you are buying and selling quite deep into the order book.

Was just replying and see Rene from support replied confirming what i was going to say, there is not big enough inidividual orders to fill when leonArdo is buying or selling so therefore there are multiple orders at the same time.

Your large quantity trades are exceeding the markets ability to cover them in one trade, so it takes several to execute the total amount traded. Reduce your quantities, expand to other pairs. Would likely be the same in actual trading.

Hi, been testing the demo for a few days now, how do i make it faster in it's dynamic updating when using the MM bot?

It often gets stuck on a buy or sell and doesn't move for a few hours.

Great software, it's got most things i imagined when i started coding a bot in basic to quickly test strategies on historic data.

It's a fascinating programming problem and you're solving it very well IMHO.

Cheers, Gary.

Hi Gary,

could you send us the logs and a screen shot to support@marginsoftware.de?
And what do you mean by 'stuck'? There are parameters on the left panel to configure your bot's behavior.

All the best,

  Rene

Yes it's probably me not being familiar enough with the parameters. When i say stuck, for instance in a downward trend it buys but then can't sell, even though i have the max order life at 0.1 and min effective gain at -0.01, and the 'window' doesn't move. I thought that it being dynamic that it would move the same buy/sell limits with the average price, perhaps scaling it with volatility.

I won't post a screenshot yet since i've now changed the parameters. I'll test for longer since it's probz just the learning curve.

You have a happy, hungry and educated client-base, some detailed documentation would go a long way in satisfying that hunger (especially for trading noobs) and attract more sales.

Great support you people at Margin, even for us demo users Smiley

I work in SEO for a living, there's a growing interest in trading bots, especially of the cryptocurrency variety, 210 people per month on Google UK alone searching for 'bitcoin trading bot', i haven't looked at other countries yet or for other search-queries but with good marketing Leonardo sales would take off, PM me and i can show you some of my work and proof-of-work (pun completely intended!) and provide references if necessary.

Cheers, Gary.

Just to add more info from the author of this article. He has included his P/MV formula in the comments. See below:

The first point is just to use a timing strategy, like a SMA50 SMA20 crossover, for these bear markets. These are "noisy" when the lines are about to cross, so find a way to avoid trading in and out too often at that point (this is what I used the stochastic analysis for). If you do nothing else, this will save you a ton from unnecessary losses.

Next, the Metcalfe value of Bitcoin can be calculated with the following formula: Value = kN^2, where N is the number of average daily users (https://blockchain.info/charts/n-unique-addresses). The constant k is 4*10^-9 ... again, that's just derived from regression analysis done in October of 2016 and you could have slightly different values as long as you keep them constant.

Once you have the Metcalfe value of Bitcoin, just divide it into the price to get the P/MV. Lower P/MV is cheap, while higher is expensive. Historical average from 2011 is about 2.3 for Bitcoin, but it varies a lot from year to year, and that's why you'll want to use a moving average (e.g. SMA20, or EMA30, or Bollinger Bands, or whatever) to tell when it's moving too high or low on a narrower historical basis.

Then just use your "cheap" P/MV signals for buy-in points, and your price momentum indicator for exit points.

It might take a couple of hours to get all the info together, but you could build this in Excel.
That's pretty much it Smiley

--Seems like a pretty good EA Strategy to me. Hoping DEVs look into this as a possible addition to LEO!

Agreed, volume is so low right now I am having split buy/sells on under $100 with 1500 BTC volume pairs. Do not know how anyone but Poloniex is making money there right now. I have had 10 BTC pair churning there for weeks and not seeing any movement when it used to be a money machine.

Anonymity may be a key issue with exchanges falling out of favor with the public (IE Poloniex recent policy changes). I do not think there are that many black hats in the world trying to do dubious things with crypto as there are people who fear their governments and would like to keep their profits tax free as it is always 100% "at risk". I was shocked to find that Binance will let me move up to 2BTC a day with only a valid email address. Shocked

Hi,

I'm new to Leonardo and I have a question about the "Min. effective gain" when using the Margin Bot:

https://imgur.com/a/7WqQg

So the total difference in BTC is 0.00005300, the trading fees are 0.00004091

How can it be that the Effective gain is: 0.00005273? I would expect it to be 0.00001209 Huh
