Right now I'm just mining using a GPU that has been left from the days I used to mine with multiple GPU's and actually earn something. I'm just doing it for fun and to see if I get lucky (99.9% I won't be) and at the same time, just waiting for the GPU to give up completely (I have free electricity so I'm just messing for now). But I'm also having an eye to get back to the mining world with asics (I'm waiting to see how the situation would be after the halving before I invest further more).

because i like to generate bitcoin it's anonymous, much better than buying on a exchange, yes you need to buy the mienrs but it is cheaper than buying directly, talking about gpu here not asic

I enjoy it as a hobby, it is something I almost always have enjoyed since starting.  Always something new or something to learn.  And overall it had treated me pretty good.

Just recently I have dabled in ether a little bit.  I did not think I would ever go back to GPU mining, but happily am doing a little now.  And I will always like straight BTC mining, it has gotten harder and tighter margins I will admit.  But I still enjoy it.

I started mining for fun right around when the first buzz about it started in the IT industry. Then I moved away from it for years (I missed the spike to over $1000), now because of a new job I was reminded of how fun a hobby this could be which got me to dig up my old wallets. They had a few BTC in them already which got the ball rolling and paid for my first s7. I used profits from those initial machines to buy a couch which I'm very proud of. Sold all but 1 s7 and a few s1s and s3s which are mostly solo mining these days. I pretty much broke even with the couch as a profit. It would be nice to hit a block before the halving but now everything is on autopilot.

Got friends and family bugging you to explain Bitcoin? Point them to https://bitcoinfaq.info for some answers. I've built the site to have simple answers to complete newcomers and info on what is involved in getting started with mining.

I'm openly taking questions and updating the site with answers and walk-throughs.

I don't have experiance in mining One of my close friend He is doing Solar mining. In our city is too costly to have for commercial usage, So he initialized Solar panels and he is doing that. He would recommend you guys If you have plan to start with Solar mining do large scale else you can't make big profit by that.

I mine because I'm going to school and it's year round. I don't have enough time in my schedule to get a job, so mining Bitcoins is a nice easy way to make pocket change.

Back in my day Bitcoin used to cost $69
