I received an email from hazelnutter, demanding back his coins. He sent me a signed message which said:

Code:

Hello notaek,

Due to legendary idiot member Hueristic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=198573), We are having a hard time continuing developement or getting interested parties involved with development. We have now just lost one of the exchanges because of his messages. He is ruining what Ophion could be for you.

Ophion is to be developed by 2 people I know well and have worked with (Still in discussion about payment) We can continue this project but I really dont know how much we can make from it now as a bit of fud like this can turn people off.

As the project is terminated we don't think about continuing our signature campaign and so I am requesting you to return me the bitcoins I kept in your escrow address. These are investor's funds which I will have to return them as a token of good will. Returning the funds to investors is more important than paying out to signature spammers.

Kindly send me them to 1LnjyM12aPkzceninWeoEFkiTYXpVNH6Tp

Thank you for taking time. You have been a good escrower. I will definitely contact you again after we deal with the flaws in our project.

I obeyed what he instructed me to do since he mentioned about returning them to the investors.
Let me know if I was wrong with my decision.

Are you kidding us?

The campaign was more then halfway underway (just 1 day) before payment) and you decided to just return it?

Fully aware that
1 The site site was locked
2 All threads were locked, meaning it was a scam to happen
3 Again the campaign was 1 day away for payment
4 You escrowed got PM's and  decided to go into silentmode for over 16 hours

But your egoistic mind thought (I can earn btc because he stated;"I will definitely contact you again after we deal with the flaws in our project").

This 4 reasons are more then enough to me that you are either on the scam, or you benefited else wise.

You didn't even contacted the community manager...

Eitherway you should be held responsible after such a big mess up (see my 4 points)

P.S. Even if he did wanted to tripple the BTC and give it all to Unicef. The signature campaign members should be paid if there is just (let me repeat it) 1 day away from payment.

What's wrong with these so called campaign managers

So many posts about OPHION has come up. Even a SCAM accusation thread and you tell me, you all missed that?

0.025 is not a lot of money, but 1 BTC or 17 BTC they stole is. And I am sure you can't be this stupid since you did more signature campaigns...
Paying them and missing the bitcointalk is just too much of a coincidence.

We all know that...

I received an email from hazelnutter, demanding back his coins.

-snipped-

You are a fucking joke. I mean, really? ...

If you wanted to ensure that he would keep up to his word (which he probably isn't going to do) (or maybe this is your alt account or whatever) you would have requested that you get the list of return address (which there probably isn't) and you would send them back personally (which you probably won't).

Also, I've helped him point out bugs on his (shitty) website, as well as other people helped pitch in and was excited about this (god awful) project.

You guys are the worst...

He is not a joke, he was in on it or got a good amount of bitcoins to cover his involvement.  Facts are facts and I opened a scam accusation thread against him https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1479635.msg14915266#msg14915266

Let's be real. There is no way he was asleep and just transferred the bitcoins. No way.

Edit
And yes it's not about my payment. For the record: I did not make a screenshot and hereby deny payment from stolen money.

But he (Notaek) appearenty being both an escrow and signature campaign manager (WTF how can someone like him got be trusted for both?) forget about his duties and chose for easy money thinking he was out of range of the facts.

Well, without asking anything its better not to assume anything yourself.

This thread was already locked down by BTCat. And I had a few conversation with BTCat regarding the matter.

It was the signed message, which I'm afraid had me convinced to return the funds.

I apologise for not being sensible enough with my decicion but all I can do now is to partially payout the participants from the service fee he sent me.

I respect your opinion but I haven't been through this situation before.

I request BTCat to prepare his spreadsheet and send me the amount I need to repay.
Lets see if I can find a solution to this.

P.S I'm having no affiliation with ophion in any ways.

Gianluca aka the Spam King
Notaek a greedy bastard who double cross to make profit and then act 'stupid'

__________
You paid him 2/3 hours ago:
https://blockchain.info/address/1LnjyM12aPkzceninWeoEFkiTYXpVNH6Tp

So many posts about OPHION has come up. Even a SCAM accusation thread and you tell me, you all missed that?

0.025 is not a lot of money, but 1 BTC or 17 BTC they stole is. And I am sure you can't be this stupid since you did more signature campaigns...
Paying them and missing the bitcointalk is just too much of a coincidence.

We all know that...

There is a thing called justice. Every man and woman knows about it and what you did was injustice.
You, being a signature manager yourself (which makes you story very very very hard to believe) get an e-mail about closing the campaign.

These things happends. There is just 1 day before payment. You were asked for holding funds escrow for.. THE signature campaign.

Your sense tells you..
Hmm yeah wait let me not see what is happening there?
Hmm what about the signature campaign members? Tomorrow they get payment?

LOL no you stature as a 'signature campaign manager' leads to you pay.

With escrows like you we don't need any escrow ever for escrow. What you did was exactly the thing for which escrows are in the first place.
And still you act innocent? Uh uh Wink

Exactly, and the funny thing is that there wasn't even a hint of curiosity to check out the spam boards or anything else on here to see what the current situation was with everyone else... I guess in his eyes, it's better to sell out and allow these guys to get away with ~17 BTC and probably get a good chunk of the cut, than sell his account to someone else straight up... because now his trust is probably going to go down from this point on.

The very best thing to do now is audit who is the participant and they should be payed for their works their some fund heing escrowed and that shoulf be given to participants even though the campaign is close, this is not very good for the community if something like this will be happen again.

Manager should make audit who participants would be payed Even though its little btc but the matter their is participant should be payed for their hard work.

He will not sell it now, because he still plays the innocent child/dog.

We are not good for trust (though we got good arguments), but we are not alone in this quest:
https://archive.is/ZlxKg

Selling out yourself for 1 BTC that's low,  Whatever he will do in live. His price was less then 450 dollars. That's cheap man.

The manager BTCat is not a very intelligent guy either (probably why the scammers chose them).

About BTCat:
He did not make a spreadsheet after almost a week after being asked to by.. almost everyone.
He also got his twitter account banned while promoting his promotion service.

It seems the scammers found the most idiotic people on this forum.... and perhaps even alive

I think escrow on sig cam
p is to ensure that the participants got paid by his service but now escrow here lost its function

Yeah. People lost money and there will be end to that story.

Other people lost through an incompetent escrow and so called manager.
Since the escrow  Notaek was at fault more (money) and Notaek start to blame BTCat for a missing list:

I need a spreadsheet ASAP! Where's BTCat?
Witch hunting will lead you into nothing.

Which is crazy since a list will give you nothing. Check the OP and count down to page 3 where you find applicants.. idiot!

The scammers did cover some tracks, but you my idiot friend, you did not cover well enough.

This is very interesting to read, bitcoin-hunter is a bit hard  on some people, but with full right in my opinion.
I think situation was pretty clear with this campaign, when they shut down everything, escrow should give that money to people from campaign. I don`t know how manager of campaign is paid, but he also need to fight for justice here. At least that will help him with reputation here.  What to think now about people who needs to protect us from scammers?

LOL how am I hard. I am just stating facts. Notaek and BTCat followed the scammers just to easily. To a sense which doesn't make it realistic.

Thing is they both are dealing in signature, escrow etc. so they should never and, I repeat, never be in a position to trust funds or be responsible of funds.

This is real money and we are dealing with adults.  Adults are the ones who should take responsibility for their actions right?

Look at the facts and think again, Am I too hard, Is this a witchhunt?

No/ Nein/ Non, I just lost some money of this signature campaign. 10 dollars. Don't worry I will survive that Wink But like I said above, the reason I do this is that people like them who support scammers, should never be able to do it again...

Suppose?

So what do the members on DT think about all of this shenanigans?  Looks like Notaek 1) Made a boneheaded mistake, or 2) Is bullshitting and is a scammer.  I only see the one negative trust in a sea of positive trust.  I know it's hard to believe someone would ruin all of that for so little, but you know we've seen it happen before.

So what do the members on DT think about all of this shenanigans?
I'm currently waiting on BTCat to come forward and join the discussion over here.
I've contacted notaek via PM (right after he posted that email) and from my judgement, he doesn't seem like a scammer,
but rather like a guy who did a big mistake and is now trying to sort out the aftermath.

I've been asked for (/and offered) my help with that, but more regarding this later.
Based on all the above, I don't think it's necessary to issue a negative feedback on notaek (yet), others might disagree though.

Btcat must answer this allegation and he must online know to give the spreadsheet to notaek so it will be resolve as soon as possible so they can protect the participants right to be payed.

But theres nothing we can do now since btcat is offline for now To resolve the issue for this problem.

BTCAT is no where , hes gone, It was fraud from the start. He never make spreadsheet and never check quality of the posters.
So it was from his point of view the biggest fraud.

But i smell a much greater fraud in Signature Campaign as it has given a way to other think on the same ways.

See and wait for another better Fraud coming soon

Why would a signed message get you to agree to return the funds? The only thing that proves is that you were receiving a message from the person you thought you were receiving it from.

How much exactly did he pay you and how much is owed to participants? What is going to happen with the difference?
