I just dont know enough about Bitcoindark to compare both cryptocurrencies, maybe someone can enlighten me about Bitcoindark,
what are its strengths and weaknesses ?

With regards to Dash i can mention the following :

Dash strenghts :

With Dash you have a lot of innovation, rewards for running full nodes (masternodes), rewards for POW (miners), a decentralized funding and governing model,
ASIC miner options with some idea's on how to keep them decentralized if necessary, a very capable dev-team that have build a track record of knowing how
to fix problems if / when they arise and last but not least, Dash has a very active internationally-oriented community.

Dash weakness :

The instamine history, people will have to decide for themself if that is a fundamental obstacle or not ...

Does BTCDark and darkcoin different? If they're synonymous, then this thread is... confusing, since DASH is the incarnation of darkcoin, which means btcdark, darkcoin, and DASH all the same. If not, well... I never heard btcd, but I know DASH has a strong root and its value is quite stable for the last few months.

For the moment BTCD has no anonymity technology. The anonymity is vaporware. jl777 is working on it.

Dash's anonymity technology has serious problems as has been discussed else where ad nauseum.

There are other superior technologies.

Dash appears to be moving more towards payments.

BTCD appears to be moving more towards other features.

So if you are comparing on anonymity technology, these two coins are not currently the top technology. If you are comparing on other features, they are going for different features and markets apparently.

Please add "neither" or "other" to the poll. The low poll voting is because the choices are inadequate. I can't vote.

Dash anonymity has never been broken, please break it first before stating Dash has serious problems
with regards to its anonymity technology.

@Qwizzie--I believe you've used #1-3  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1430839.msg14472374#msg14472374

Why leave out the other four? You can do it, I have faith in you.

It is close to two years since I looked at BitcoinDark. Here is a copy of its whitepaper, I found online http://bravenewcoin.com/assets/Whitepapers/Bitcoin-DarkPaper.pdf

I agree with iamnotback on there being no anonymity technology in BitcoinDark. Its "anonymity technology" is actually 2 year old vaporware. As for the poll yes Dash does beat BitcoinDark here; however this is an extremely low standard by which to judge Dash.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

How would be the same? If you invest money surely choose the most promising one, there are small pump on BTCD months ago but only few btc volumes.
Today 0.0025btc/BTCD on bittrex and DASH price is 0.01btc I saw DASH pump to 0.018btc last month if I am not wrong.

but at least they have working wallet and miners since the start.
actually with dash wallet you can mix your coins just pressing a button.
i never tried BTCD, features are vaporware but dev is really working on it. might be a good mid-long term bet in trading.

don't fall for the off topic spam, it's really annoying when you find the same spam by the same people in every thread even if unrelated like in this one.
but yeah, they can only support monero by spamming it everywhere because otherwise nobody would care of a crippled coin raped by botnets without wallet and practical use.

Every coin is attempting to make (a new type of) money, but some of them are better at it than others--if you want the same old fiat, you'll get what you want, just don't count on one of the riskiest experiments ever (cryptocurrency) to provide you with more of it.

As to which is a better technology--that's like asking which Manning brother would make a better Shakespearean actor (I'm sure one would be less terrible than the other, but that doesn't mean either is good).
