Can someone clearly explain the Trust Network.
What is the difference connection between Trust Network & Trust lists?

depth 0 are the list of users that you have in your trust list.
depth 1 are the list of users that the users in depth 0 have in their trust lists.
depth 2 are the list of users that the users in depth 1 have in their trust lists.
same goes for depth 3/4.

trust network are made up of users that is in depth 0 to depth x. x = your max trust depth.

Where can I view other people's trust lists, if it is via their profile & clicking Trust>then Trust settings then It seems that most people's trust settings are set to default. e.g. powerpuff, chronicsky.
So as soon as I add 1 person to my trust list – I lose the ability to have default trust?

if you add anyone to your trust list, even if they don't trust anyone, DefaultTrust will no longer be considered part of your trust list.

You can use DefaultTrust too.

As far as I can see it, DefaultTrust is implemented as just another user. So you can trust jambola2 and DefaultTrust if you want to. I think if you leave it blank, it automatically uses DefaultTrust. But if you specifically enter only Jambola2, it stops using DefaultTrust.

So, for example, if you wanted to trust me and DefaultTrust, you would enter:

DefaultTrust
jambola2

If you wanted to trust only me, you would enter:

Code:

jambola2

This would still keep DefaultTrust at a lower level though, because I currently trust DefaultTrust.

Overall, you can fully trust DefaultTrust while having other entries in your trust list, and even if you decide not to have it, you will most likely have DefaultTrust somewhere in your trusted list due to someone you trust using DefaultTrust. (you could likely ignore DefaultTrust using the ~ command too though, not tested it)

Can you help me with the difference between Trusted feedback & untrusted feedback.
I notice that you have the following trusted feedback:

How do you get trusted feedback?

yes. if someone leave a feedback on your trust and he's in your trust network, it'll appear as trusted. if not it will go to the list of untrusted feedback.

To add further clarity to my understanding of the trust system

It is the bold number that goes up & if so does it go up by 1 each time someone in my trust list leaves me trusted feedback. What does Theymos mean by on how consistently If it isn't 1 for 1 as I've assumed above what are the rules/ratio for how this first trust number increases.

2) I did a trade with powerpuff, he delivered so I was pleased. He is not part of my trust network.
But I tried to add trusted feedback regardless stating the amount of BTC staked.
When I look at his profile now it shows trusted feedbacks as follows: Trust: 0: -0 / +1
& His trust summary shows my Trusted feedback only & below it shows a host of untrusted feedbacks.
Neither of us appear to be on each other's trust lists. We both have only default trust.
Why does only my trusted feedback show up on his Trust summary. (Or does it vary according to who is looking at it?)

3) Lastly Theymos states

The third number increases with the number of positive reports.

What is a positive report & could someone explain the specific rules for this number increasing.

ii) Also is the +1 in powerpuffs Trust summary related to my feedback - it appears to be from me, but he's not on my trust list.

the bold number is the accumulated score of your trust rating. the one that "go up by 1 each time someone in your trust list leaves you trusted feedback" is the third number. it (the bold number) will change depending on the 2nd and 3rd numbers.

this should answer the rest of the questions that you posted.

I'm not entirely sure what that means exactly. theymos have changed the algorithm so it might have worked differently back then. now the total score of your rating will increase by time provided that your negative feedback outweighs the positive ones.

The bold number goes up by 1 for every positive trust rating you get from a DT member once a month for 10 months. If a DT member leaves you positive trust now, In a month it will be +1, in two months it will be +2 and in 10 months it will be +10

no. in that scenario, you'll get 12 point every month.

The bold number doesn't increase by your trust list. It will increase/decrease depending on the number of feedbacks left by the users that is in your trust network.

1) The bolded part is not correct. Not everyone in DT would see that feedback because they might have modified their trust list. But everyone that have DefaultTrust on their trust list will see that feedback as trusted as long as they didn't exclude the user who gave that feedback.

2) The first number is simply calculated from the second and third number. it doesn't have direct connection with the feedback.

3) https://bitcointalk.org/trust.txt.xz . A username1-/>username2 means that username1 have excluded username2 from their trust list.
