To put all these pieces of information and to confirm what he actually did:

Quote
Jason Shea of Dieppe, Canada has scammed many members of this community out of quite a substantial amount of money over the last couple of weeks.

On February 15 2013:
He scammed me out of a very small amount, luckily, of about $30 CAD.
We agreed that I would send him 1.5BitCoins and he would transfer $30 into my bank account: he never. Instead he went offline and ignored me.
I was not fussed at all about loosing $30, but I stated to him I needed the money as a friend of mine had been rushed to the hospital and this was the only means of me obtaining train fare. Hence the reason why I sold the BitCoins to him so cheaply.

On February 27 2013:
The user freeworm transferred more than $3300 (CAD) to him for 104 BitCoins.
However, he only sent ONE BitCoin (worth approx. $20) in return. He is now failing to respond to the seller.

On March 2 2013:
He defrauded a user out of $1000CAD in the BTC-OTC chat room. More details to come.

Exact Date Unknown:
With the user BCB, Jason reversed two PayPal transactions after being sent what he had originally paid for leaving BCB over $2000 out of pocket.

Quote
Current total, that we know of, that Jason Shea has scammed out of members: $6330

Current total he has refunded back to the members he has scammed: $0

Updated:

BCB I believe you do have the right guy.

He is also on www.warriorforum.com/members/sunhunter.html (Restricted site, use this search term on Google)

He lists an email on there as morethancontent@gmail.com, and a skype account as morethancontent
Doing a search shows that this email registered the following domain: watchwrestlemania29online.com (see here)

The whois information for this domain lists his address as:
150 Lewisville Road,
Moncton,
New Brunswick
E1A2T7

He also has this public profile which lists his location as Dieppe.

I'd definitely advise going to the police, and also emailing his ISP (abuse@rogers.com) about his activities, I shall do the same.

Perhaps a phone call is required.

I may do so tomorrow, but being in the UK I don't fancy the charges to my mobile.

He was also reading our messages on here using this dynamic IP 207.219.69.138 which is a telus.com wireless.

Here is the Facebook profile of Stephanie McNeish https://www.facebook.com/stephanie.j.mcneish?fref=ts

He did mention on one of his other profile accounts that he has just had a baby, and her facebook profile confirms this.

Here is where she lists the location they are currently living at:

BCB would you possibly be able to update your first post to briefly describe what he has done?

There are not any details really listed in here, just us trying to discover who he is. It will help those just coming to the thread.

Thanks.

That's right, I got a great deal for one lucky person on this forum.

This will be a one time bulk order that I will take up on general niche topics. The topic could be anything at all, for instance: acne, golf, penis enlargements, acai berries, mortgage - Notice the large variety of topics I can write on?

$.008/word

The minimum order size is 50, 000 words which would cost only $400 USD. Just picture it being 100 articles x 500 words, that is only $4.00 per article!

You will not find any content writer on this forum that can provide just as high quality content for a price anywhere near the one that is being offered to you.

Part of niche articles is to incorporate a good keyword density, and I am rather experienced at doing so, but I keep my articles informative and clean as well. You can either give me a topic list, or a list of keywords to find various topics to write about myself. You will most likely have the SEO research for best keywords done already, but if not I might be able to help you out in the particular department.

If you would like to see a sample, I can send you one that was whipped up the other day real quickly.

Turnaround time: The turnaround time depends on the exacts of the project but I am a really fast writer (120+ WPM) so you could see the articles handed in within a few days.

My rates are never this low, and rarely would I work for under $.02/word, so you are guaranteed to get some high quality content here.

It's scary stuff. That's why my profile has nothing at all on it, and is only used for its chat feature.

That is why my page is completely open and my business page linked to my personal page. I want people to see who I am and what I do and to know exactly where to find me if you ever really need to. There is a lack of trust in the btc community transparency is the cure for that.  Smiley

I wish people would pay attention to the link in my sig. He was on the scammer list from day 1, even before he had scammed anybody. Seriously. It costs you nothing to pay attention to the scammer list.

Hello everyone,

Jason Shea had scammed me 1000 CA by email money transfer.  I have already contacted my bank and they are investigating the charge.  The police have been contacted as well.  A detective is already assigned.  His name is Mr.Goth and I am sure Mr.Shea will be speaking with him at some point.

This could have been easily avoided.  No attempts to refund any members have been noticed - complete SCAMMER - reported!

Great. Please keep us informed.
I hope you get your money back, I doubt I'd get mine, bit was only $30 any way, so no real loss.

That shit is crazy. See I just dont understand how someone could be so stupid as to let you have their personal facebook page and then screw you out of money, This guy is nuts, 6000 usd and he has just endangered his babies mom and his friends and family and his reputation and himself. Some one could put a full page ad in his local paper saying he was a thief, they could pay someone to go to his house and do basically anything, they can send letters to all of their friends and family exposing the fraud to all the important people in their lives.

It is scary, he'll get what he deserves.

Just remember that Stephanie more than likely had nothing to do with this, so just watch how far you go with releasing her personal info.

Over enough money I will get on a plane and go get my money my self. It sucks but I have had to go and collect before or repossess something.

If I was this kid i wouldn't sleep to well over the next couple weeks. It sucks to have to be looking over you shoulder all the time.

No attempts to refund any members have been noticed - complete SCAMMER - reported!

you can run but you cant hide.

Good job. Please keep me updated.
He scammed me 3300 CAD in total.
so the total number he scammed from people is no less than $9500. Could be much higher.

We had very similar experience with him. Believed him only because he's in Canada. Cannot believe he's sooo crazy

First Choice Haircutters

This numbers is working - although the lady who picked up said Stephanie does not work there.  There are other first choice in the area she said and mentioned she may work there.  We need to pull more info on stephanie and relatives.  #bitcoin-police should get more involved here.  This guy thinks he has made off big time with 10k in funds.   He is mistaken.

Perhaps she does work there but she told her employer to say that.

I'll do some more digging to see what I can find out.

Where did you get the $10K figure? Let me known the details and I'll update my second post on the first page for easier viewing.

That's not right at all. The way Bitcoin works she could, and very likely, has no idea. Mixed with any legitimate gains he may have had she could easily be convinced he's just doing a good job, especially with a baby on the way that kind of wishful thinking would take over quickly.

I am all for getting a scammer, and BCB you do great work, but don't be mob rule turning the tides against innocent people caught up with a scammer. Now, however, if after contacted she is okay with him scamming or admits involvement fry her.

That's a little harsh, homey. I think the focus should be on Jason Shea the scammer, not necessarily his g/f.

@ tomatocage I see that you edited the title of the post. I would like to start one that is titled master scammer list. Do you mind if I copy from your post to start as the base for the list?

I personally still wouldn't click on the post because I feel that I already know how to spot a scammer. I would how ever click on a link of a list of scammers as a cross reference before trading with new users.

You're certainly welcome to start your own list. My list was intended as a proactive reference for people to use to hopefully avoid being scammed. And as such, it contains people who might not yet be labeled with the "Scammer" tag, but their behavior might match that of people whose actions might not be completely above board.

It seems his friends/family are reading these posts. I have IP image loggers embedded in some posts, and the majority of the IPs come from near his location and the logs pick them up shortly after they were messaged.

They have yet to respond to any communications.

Good update! maybe one of his family members will CARE enough about him to advise him the logical way out of this is to pay people back..... that's all we are asking... well I kind of want some interest back now as well considering he has had my hard earned money in his unworthy pockets for a few days now... ill ask 2% per day on my items borrowed, that's all.  I think that is a fair deal.

That's fair.

Personally, I do not care for my 1.5BTC any more. I'm more than content at considering that as an investment in ruining this guy, and hopefully seeing police action brought against him.

I see why people call me a cynical person now.

My bank called and said they have contacted the receiving bank and they are doing their own investigation - as for returning the funds to me, they say they wont because I authorized the transaction.  However, they mentioned there is possibility to get the funds back with the other banks cooperation. (Jason Sheas bank)

I hope to hell that other bank has locked the shit out of his account now that CIBC and RBC have called his bank.

Good News: Jay Sheas bank is investigating him - likely his account is froze.
Bad News: My never see the money again from RBC and may have to take this legal route to see money back - which I will do. Dont worry.

You guys are scary  Shocked. Just don't harrass his girlfriend much!

Seriously screw that guy big time. It is because of such people I could not get a small loan of 5 BTC because all who replied to my thread did not even bother to ask for verification, Escrows or whatever. Just assumed I was a scammer.....

On the other hand some warms up to this asshole just because he lives in Canada.....

Yeah dude! that's why paypal is the best over this Bitcoin thing we are celebrating.... Now they can charge back the charge back! That is genius!  Roll Eyes and totally what we need!

@Blazr, I totally get that and it is only reasonable. But doesn’t innocent until proven guilty counts anymore? sheesh I was called a scammer, thief and other things even before we discuss escrows or collateral which of course I wouldn’t be opposed to.

Great to hear that his assets have been frozen and the police are involved.

I said to this guy on many occasions that unless he sent my funds back, I would spend day and night working my hardest to find out who he is; can't believe he thought 1.5BTC was worth a ruined reputation.

I really do hope you get all your money back.
I have no hope of me doing so, even though it was only 1.5BTC, it was more the fact I don't own many coins at all, and he took from me.

Oh well. Hope he's left with nothing now.

For the record, you didn't fit the profile of a typical scammer, so there weren't any red-flags raised for me.

We need some SEO so that this forum is on top of the google list when searching "Jason Shea" - that will basically ruin him from any future jobs and relationships (friends, co-workers) etc.. actually that would be worse than jail IMO.

Good news "Jason Shea nb" (New Brunswick) the thread is listed as #1.  Most HR searches will include a location reference in their search.

"Jason Shea Canada" the thread is listed at the bottom of the first page.
