Hello all,

Gamblers gonna gamble, so here's what we have.

BET: What is the amount of collected bitcoins at the end of the ICO? (See https://ico.wavesplatform.com)

Conditions:

- 1 bet per user
- Paying is an affair of honor (don't play with your reputation)
- Price for participating is 10 WAVES
- Closest tip to the final amount takes the table
- 5% of the jackpot goes to Bobo81 (Profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=820463)
- Deadline: May 29th, 5 PM UTC

Send your tip to Bobo81 through PM if you wish to participate. He will be maintaining a public spreadsheet with all tips and participants. The winner will have to disclose his/her MainNet WAVES address so people will be able to pay him/her!

Countdown: http://www.watchisup.fr/compte-a-rebours/fete/2016-05-29-18-00

Good luck!

No need to be that bureaucratic. I think most of the participants won't risk their trust points for 10 Waves.

nobody will risk their reputation to tag someone with red default trust for this either I suppose

I guess dishonest people won't send and nothing is gonna happen to them obviously

You have a point, so let's call it a friendly venture for those who are willing to loose 10 Waves : ) Me, for instance.

Please can someone explain this whole betting on ICO. I dont really understand ICO to begin with but I think it means when a coins just come out and people invest in it forma % of the stake. Unless I'm way off ? Sonhow do I get on waves ? How much per wave and it says I just be around for all ten waves. I don't want to commit till in fully understand what's going on. Forgive me for my arrogance but I'm willing to learn if someone explains this all to me. Remember you were a noob too Smiley thank you for any and all help. Smiley

Hey JasonXG,

You're not arrogant at all : ) ICO stands for initial crowd offering, or initial coin offering. It means, as you said, a new coin is coming out, and the developers of the coin raise fund before the coin's launch, with the promise that the contributors will be awarded by the coins.

For WAVES, there are 85 million coins to be distributed to the ICO contributors. So there is no fixed BTC/WAVES rate at the moment. The total amount of BTC raised in the ICO will determine the rate. Right now, if you deposit 1 BTC, you get about 5884 WAVES. But as new investors come up, your share is diluted so you may end up with less than the amount you first see.

Up till now, 12748 BTC have been raised, and we have 4 days and 20 hours until the end of the ICO. We are betting on the final amount.

If you would like to buy some WAVES, check out here: https://ico.wavesplatform.com

Fill in the space under "Please enter your email address to buy WAVES tokens", and you will be sent an e-mail with the instructions shortly.

Best,

Jian

This is kind of an interesting idea. Are there sites that offer bets on the alt markets themselves? I know there've been a few about bitcoin predictions but it would be a fun area to get more into.
