I'm not sure if bitcoin could cope with Amazon payments it its current form, the blockchain throughput would need to be much more efficient than it is now. However, it would be great for the price if Amazon did accept bitcoin.
I think when the bitcoin block chain size is increased to 2MB or higher, and users have got good experience, Amazon will accept bitcoin. |

well steam now accepts bitcoins too so i am pretty sure that if there will be enough bitcoins users, amazon will accept them in near future, like 5 years |

For sure amazon is going to accept bitcoins for sure because they have a lot of customers who are requesting them to accept bitcoins. And since they are a really big store they are going to consider that customers request. And they love to try it too. They are just still studying the best and worst about it. |

Now you can use bitcoins for Amazon product purchases by using your wallet to buy an Amazon digital gift card. Within few years amazon will accept bitcoin as direct payment. |

I think Amaxzon does not want to take too much risk by accepting the bitcoin early. It can afford to wait. Why it has to wait, it may happen in near future. Now you can use bitcoins for Amazon product purchases by using your wallet to buy an Amazon digital gift card. Within few years amazon will accept bitcoin as direct payment. Theirs no doubt really that it well happen in the near future since we all know bitcoin well be global thrend and surely not only amazon but instead all online shopping store nor businesses well accept it as their direct payment, but for let the market of bitcoin spread wider and wider because if businessman will see the full potential of bitcoins well they will accept it really with no doubts. |

For sure it is going to happen as the amazon is one of the biggest online store in the world and if they can see another payment method for sure they are going to accept and adopt it as the customers are going to suggest it and they are going to try it. And I know there are customers of amazon now that are using bitcoin. |

Yeah your right.. but now i realize just now that amazon is afraid that if they accept bitcoin as payment.. because if costumers are not satisfied about bought item or false product you can not get back your bitcoins.. unlike paypal that you can reverse the payment..
That is a good point you have there, but is can be adjusted thus: If you are selling stuff on amazon for bitcoins, then you have to wait for a period of say 2 weeks after sales to give room for refund. If the customer has no complaints, you get your money after the 2 weeks has expired. |

I've been thinking about this again, I don't think Amazon will take on bitcoin, the transactions through the blockchain are very traceable, even if they create a new wallet for every transaction, they will end up at some wallet somwhere. Big companies don't like to share exactly how much money is flowing to them outside of company reports, both for tax reasons and so that they can control their shareprice.
In the UK, they are quite secretive about their expenses (usually so that they can dodge tax)
I can't see them using BTC as a currency, however one of the anonymous currencies, maybe.

It can be possible but it is a risk which can get them either profit or loss. As We know The Price of Bitcoin increases and decreases many times So It is a risky job to make "bitcoin" a payment method

As long as the bitcoin price rises in the long term, there is no need to worry about the short term volatility. |

How can we can increase bitcoin usage when main principle of bitcoin crowd is to 'keep holding and wait for the moon"? Everyone is talking about Amazon, but almost no one is remember that Steam is already accepting bitcoin. I would like to see their statistics of bitcoin purchases because I suspect it is very bad ratio in comparison with FIAT purchases. |

Yes I would be interested to see the amount of payments Steam or Overstock.com get in Bitcoin.
I suspect its not much right now but its a good start.
If Amazon or another major retailer accepted BTC it would be a huge deal.
Bitcoin would definitely gain some value the day that was announced and continue to go up in price for months after as many new users started using the new payment method.

I see saw some threads and some sellers are accepting btc in amazon but via private messages etc wow, it's good, but it would be better if all amazon sellers accept bitcoin. if bitcoin goes mainstream and its status is legal in America, probably amazon will accept payment by bitcoin  but it should need more time. |

I don't wait until bitcoin become famous and many people use it as payment method because will need much time for it, i can use purse.io for shopping using bitcoin at Amazon. And there are discounts at purse.io too, it is save my time and money for shopping on Amazon using bitcoin. |
