Noise, Heat, vibration, power....that is why they are known as "Wife Busters."   haha   Back in the Day - I kept on adding miners (S5s) to my basement and fount out that all of my wife's candles were melted in a goo at the bottom of a container.  haha  Put them in a data center before the wife finds out!  haha

My March 1 S9 shipped last night.  It shows it was picked up and it already has an red Exception warning on the FedEx tracking page.  Curious.  Thrilled it's early, but the Exception thing always worries me.  I wish they had not lost UPS.

Glad that they shipped early. What does the fedex exception say?

There is no explanation for the exception.  So it's hard to say if there is actually an issue or not.
Normally, if you get an exception, it's while the miner is going through Chinese customs.  It's because Bitmain's paperwork is bad or the govt is just being a pain.  I am in the US and it always seems to work itself out.  But it does delay delivery.
But I'm not convinced there is a real problem here yet.

based on my limited experience with fedex, exceptions were usually when they were imported into Canada. Canadian customs seemed to like opening every freaking box under my name Undecided

My last 3 deliveries from Bitmain have triggered an exception from Fedex - due to missing the cut-off time. It just pushes out the expected delivery date by a day.

Got my Feb 28th s9 today. Plugged it in and 1 board is only reading 37 asics instead of 63 and hashing at about 100gh/s. The other 2 boards are hashing normally. Tried restarting several times with different psu's/cables and get the same result every time. Nothing's loose or rattling around. Damn Bitmain. When are you guys gonna get your act together? I'm done buying their gear.

Makes me wonder if they tossed some old chips from an s1 in there.

Did you shake it lightly to see if a heat sink fell off?

From what I understand, I would stop hashing immediately and open a ticket.  Sad

I got my 13.5 TH/s, Feb 28, today.  I'm getting 13.6 ...

Try opening a ticket.  Did you shake it lightly to see if a heat sink fell off?

Yes, I tried that. nothing loose or making any noise.

I opened a ticket and waiting for a response. The problem is having to pay $250 to ship it back to them. Fed-Ex US -> China, isn't cheap. Unless they offer to pay for the shipping. Which they should, since it was defective out of the box. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.

I'll probably wind up send it to Colorado for repairs.

Open a claim with FedEx because it was likely damaged in shipping.

Well, if China doesn't work out ... that really sucks though.  Where at in CO?I hope you lucked out and got it at the 1445 price when BTC took a jump.  I am thinking BITMAIN may be getting used to wanting to keep customers. This is my first order.

The problem is there is so little competition and you're not getting the same hash.

It wasn't damaged in shipping. There is no physical damage to the box or miner.

bitmainwarranty.com is in Colorado. They do repairs on bitmain gear for a fee. shipping is much cheaper and time lost from mining is less.

This really sucks. Wish you good luck dealing with them and have the shipping waived.

I received a S9 from Bitmain today, and one of the hashing board doesn't appear in the S9 management page.
It runs only at 2/3 hashrate , brand new out of the box ...
Just opened a ticket ...
