Everyone on your site is complaining that they have placed orders and have no confirmation of payment. Why is there no confirmation of payment and you stopped accepting Paypal or debit cards? You need to be more professional, I want to make big orders, but everyone complains on your site they have no confirmation weeks after payment. How are you dealing with this?

I am new to all this but i did get confirmation of my payment made by email on my order yesterday. On a previous order my User Profile/Order details was updated with status of payment. If you log into your Bitmain.com Account (assuming you created one when you ordered) you would be able to see your order progress and even ask question about the order via their ticket system.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Yes, because every professional, contemplating spending $100,000+USD through Paypal or debit cards, comes here (after reading imaginary complaints on BitmainTalk) and makes their first ever post here (instead of the location of the imaginary complaints on BitmainTalk) all about FUD, hyperbole, and how things used to be.  Roll Eyes

Hey all, how many weeks have you been receiving your units after order, lately? Last batch (sold out now) was indicating shipping September 10th ish, but I've heard from others that they are getting their orders before the date indicated on the batch. I'm looking to make my first sizable purchase Smiley

Hi.

Logged into the mine today to check over everything as you do, one of my S9's is reporting a crazy hash rate on HB2.
Ive been over and done a hard reset and its still reporting the same after a hard reset.

Any ideas folks?

Its certainly not hashing at that rate although I wish it was!

You have at least 1 bad chip.
Look in the "Kernel Log" (under the "System" tab) for the words "get RT hashrate" and you should be able to see if it's just 1 bad chip or more than one (the "Asic[xx]=" part will read way higher than the rest). Sadly, there's nothing you can do to fix it on your own.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

What other choice does one have? Not mine? Doesn't mean I can't support Core and Segwit because I'm mining with Antminers... and Avalon isn't an option, I'll probably never ROI...

I don't fault Bitmain for doing what's in their own best interest, it is expected.

Anyways, anyone have any recent experience with shipping schedule?

Yes, not mining is an actual option.

...Doesn't mean I can't support Core and Segwit because I'm mining with Antminers...
No, you have every right to be a hypocrite and purchase equipment from a company you've disparaged for being a monopoly and you've accused of subversive mining practices. Just don't expect that when you do all 3 of those things publicly that there will not be anyone calling you out on your bullshit.  Wink

Genie buddy, what disparaging comments are you referring to particularly? I don't recall ever trashing Bitmain, all I've ever done is stated facts. In fact I have posted positive comments on this forum and others regarding how they continue to offer the public miners when other companies (e.g. bitfury) has not, and have advised others to buy direct from Bitmain due to the best-in-class product. Just read my post history.

I looked in my post history to find what has made you so angry, maybe you are referring to this comment I made on slushpool forum? - "Also, the fact is that Bitmain has too much influence due to their mining monopoly. They control well over 51% of the hash, if you consider the pools they influence and the farms they influence with their hosting contracts..."? It just so happens that the context and subject matter of this post is true. If you read through my post history you will see that I am Anti-Covert-Asicboost (only an ignoramus wouldn't be), so if I've said anything about Bitmain it is solely related to my hate for covert Asicboost. Guess what? When I buy more Antminers, I won't be using covert-Asicboost. So I am not being a hypocrite, I am supporting the cause I believe in and putting skin in the game.

I have not "accused" Bitmain of subversive mining practices, it is a *fact* that they own Asicboost patents, so one can assume they are using the IP they spent hundreds of thousands to protect... The related Segwit2X / Scaling stall tactics are all related to covert Asicboost and protecting it, only the uninformed do not realize this. How can other mining manufacturers get in the game when there is IP threats relating to patents on security exploits (it is not a network optimization), it is simply *unfeasible* and strengthens the monopoly. Why should anyone support a monopoly that is based on a security exploit?

Sorry, not-mining is *not* an option: I have access to low cost power, so I want to mine because it is profitable to mine. I will mine on a pool that supports the vision of Bitcoin that I have, how else can it be achieved if it isn't mined? I will not mine asicboost.

Boy you are quick to be negative aren't you?

... I will not mine asicboost....
No one is mining asicboost, you dumb twit, and despite the claims that you conveniently "forget" that you made, no one has ever mined asicboost on mainnet.

Being "Anti-Covert-Asicboost" requires that "Covert-Asicboost" does, did, or would exist.  Roll Eyes

There's an irony in being "anti" something that is in someone's imagination.

My friend, I think you spend too much time on this forum, there's no way you're this negative in RL, or maybe you no longer have any friends  Kiss

You say covert-asicboost attack vector doesn't exist? Can you reference something to back-up this claim? I'm not the type to stick to a position when new light is shed to disprove it, convince me and I'll work to convince others. I'll admit, I do not have the computer science skillset, nor the time, to validate the claim originating from GMaxwell myself. This is why we humans tend to trust experts on these matters, so we can focus on our own expertise. Hmm... should I trust GMaxell & Core regarding covert Asicboosts existence, or Mr. Genie...  Roll Eyes

Avalon 7's actually do have a shorter ROI time than ****main's s9's. They are not as effective as S9's when it comes to power efficiency but that's a small price for not supporting a p.o.s company.

I'm not sure exactly how this example was calculated, but based on my numbers:
Antminer S9 = $81.41 $/TH & 0.098 J/GH

compared to

Avalon 741 = 97.81 $/TH & 0.158 J/GH

Antminer will always pay off sooner, lower capital cost, better power efficiency

Given the current amount these things make, and the delayed shipping, and the huge diff jumps we are still seeing, and the price, I can't believe anyone is still buying.  I have one from Jan that I am still wondering about hitting ROI ever.  The income is a trickle and that is not factoring electricity at all.

In fact here is what a 13.6 S9 is pulling in for me for a weeks worth of mining going back for the past 4 weeks.  So those totals are the amount it made for the previous week of mining.

Sat 6/17         0.03983259
Sat 6/24         0.03746030
Sat 7/1           0.03617634
Sat 7/8           0.03455305

I still have .47 BTC for this one to ROI (disregarding electrical costs) which is almost exactly what a new one costs right now.  Diff is about to jump 14% today.  So even if diff stayed static after that I am looking at about 0.02971562 per week so still 15.8 weeks to ROI, so just call it 4 months.  Basically this machine will be mining for a full year to ROI, if it ever even does.

With this kind of math why would anyone buy an S9 now?  I regret buying this one from back in Jan.

It's so cute when I see people crying that equipment has no return and it's more due to the fact that they are married to a specific coin rather than fully utilizing the equipment.  Cheesy

Now as there is a long waiting for delivery and varying quality with S9, it is best to go with AvalonMiner 741 or Ebit E9.

I've said in my previous posts that I, nor anyone like you say about Maxwell, have no proof that covert Asicboost is being used by anyone, even Bitmain. What I DO know is that the attack vector EXISTS, like you seem to acknowledge. Therefore, someone COULD be using it and we wouldn't know based on its very nature. Circumstantial evidence, such as the public patents by Bitmain, indicate they MAY be using it. In fact, why the F*** would they NOT be using it if they went through several hundred thousand dollars worth of legal expenses to patent it, FFS.

But it doesn't matter, I've said before and I'll say it again, I don't fault anyone with access to it using it - game theory says everyone acts in their own best interest. Anything negative you may have perceived me to say about Bitmain, is against Bitmains current decisions, or more specifically Mr. Wu's statements and intent to stall Segwit. I have nothing against Bitmain the manufacturer, they make a superb product.

Anyways, I've fed you enough for today, feel free to answer my original question I would appreciate it.

Fair points. Myself, I have a proof of concept to establish for one (more on that in the future), but I do believe it is profitable, at least if power costs are low and one can wait for the price to appreciate before they need to sell the BTC to cover power costs.

Cheers
