So a question about S9 HW errors. My S9 has always had much higher errors on the third board, which also had the highest temps, but still within acceptable ranges.

About three weeks ago, now board 1 with the lowest temps on average is showing a much higher error rate. More than the other two boards combined. The overall HW error rate over time is .0033 with an uptime of 2 1/2 days.

Is this something I should worry about? Is there anything I can even do about this or just ride it out until that board fails?

Thanks!

Below is the current error rate:

Chain#   ASIC#   Frequency   GH/S(RT)             HW          Temp(PCB)   Temp(Chip)
1             63         600           4286.07                    20937          64                  95

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hello everyone
S9 batch 2 price was around 2095 USD and with 0.1$ electricity cost its around 4 month (120 days) release of s9 batch 2
Revenue is around  btc generated 1.7 btc and according to 700 price revenue is 1190 USD
electricity cost 120 days*34 unit each day = 4080 unit * 0.1$=408 USD
profit is 1190-408 = 782 USD
total expense of miner covered 2095-782 = 1313 USD
1313 USD is left to cover ROI

batch 18(11TH ,112$ per TH) price is approx 1440 USD of 12.93 TH approx calculation

so if nothing is done in this 120 days then after that in price of 1440 USD or less we can get miner in price of 1440 USD

there is not much difference in current price and how much left for ROI for earlier batches then what is the reason to take earlier batches Huh

i have s9s batch 2 but why to take earlier batches when we know price is going to be down this much ?

You mined at 10 cents a kwatt.  That is not a great price for power.
You did okay at 10 cents.  You could list that miner for about 1400 usd and turn a 87 dollar profit.

87 profit in your case using 10 cent power is not terrible.

Hint I am trying  to explain that ten cent power is not that good for ASIC mining with the s9.

 Six is good
 eight is okay
 ten is a little risky

Sounds like sunny163 and Sierra8561  could cut a deal.

@ Sunny163  at ten cents a kwatt if you can get  1400 you should sell your s9.

You won't lose money  you will make a tiny amount of profit.  You can also hold the coins you get for it and hope the btc price moves up.

I have a deal with buysolar  I provide machines  we split coins.. So when the gear first comes out he does better as difficulty raises I do better.  But for us to profit  we need to gear to not break down.  We have had a lot of down time with the gear.  As I type My third dead board will arrive at my home in a day or two.  Just in time to replace my fourth dead board.  Considering I have had only 18 boards for six machines   death rate is 4/18 or 22.22%.

As I see all miners are sold out at bitmaintech? https://shop.bitmain.com/main.htm?lang=en

Also I see the increasing price of the Bitcoin that's why I want to buy this miner and have found it on Aliexpress here http://ali.pub/a7b40

It costs $2,150.00/piece with Free Shipping to United States via DHL.
Estimated Delivery Time:6-13days
Only three pieces available.

Another seller's Total Price: US $1,748.27 - http://ali.pub/lti1n
With Estimated Delivery Time:8-16days
Also five orders and only two pieces available.

Why these prices are so different? Maybe I don't understand something?

It is called charging whatever price the market will bear.
I would also check to see what batch the miners are and if they are 'new' or have been used.

they are reselling gear.  even if it is new it won't have a warranty.

I am down to 2 s9's  with 1 spare hashboard and 1 spare controller.

I am considering selling them.  I am not sure if I will .  Depends on my alt coin mining.

If I sold them I would ask 3333 usd in btc  for 2 s9's + an extra  controller and an extra hash board. free Shipping to the usa

Maybe you are right about the warranty but the first seller has three five-star feedbacks in August and September and zero negative comments. I think it was enough time to make tests for these buyers. But I still try to find better offers..

And good luck with the sale of your hardware.

Got a batch 19 today.  The hashrate goes up and down like a yo-yo (as do the fan speeds).  What the hell is the deal?  I tried today's firmware but it is actually worse than the one that came on it which was dated from the middle of last month.  It hits the advertised hashrate but since it spends so much time drifting down to low hashrates the average is much lower than the advertised rate.

It will hash fine for 5 to 10 minutes then one, two, or sometimes all three boards suddenly start drifting towards zero.  They end somewhere around 50-100 and then hover there for 2 or 3 minutes then crank back up to full until they do it again.  When this is happening there tend to be a lot of hardware errors too, at least on the firmware released today.

EDIT: Also the web page is much less responsive.  Additionally it runs the boards a little hotter than I would.  Todays firmware is allowing temps of 110 before it turns up the fans.  Also the PCB temps have been removed.

So they are going downhill with the quality.
I don't like all this info about problems with the autofreq models, so that's why I ordered another S9 11.85Th/s regular model from www.eastshore.xyz. This is my second order from them, first one came nicely and it is beefy one with 662Mhz OC 14.1Th/s  Smiley

Unfortunately I tried upgrading firmware to today's and yesterday's and now it won't let me upgrade again.  It is stuck with yesterday's firmware and it throws an error if I try and upgrade to anything else.  It goes minutes at a time without submitting shares.  Total piece of shit. Poolside hashrate was a joke submitting a handful of share every 5-10 minutes despite the web gui claiming it was hashing at 10k-13k.

I have reconnected my S7 for now.

I just upgraded all my 4x S9 B19 miners from Wed Oct 26 File System Version to Wed Nov 2 with no problems.

I had no problem upgrading to that one either.  But when it continued to do the yo-yo hashrate I went for the Nov 1st firmware.  Now I am stuck on that one, but there seems to be larger problems because it does not submit hardly any shares either.  The last share time both in the GUI and on the pool side will go greater than 6 minutes.  That is clearly abnormal at 10-13Th at any reasonable difficulty.  Poolside diff dropped to the minimum the pool will do and it was still going many minutes between shares while claiming it was hashing in the GUI.
