I can agree with low quality chips thou, because i have seen a lot of topic here in last few days were people are complaining about dead boards in there, or like "bought 12, 3 is already DEAD"... Something has been very lowish quality with them then since that is happening. I only HOPE with mine everything will be alright(willing to take that risk)

Which ones did you order? And how many? I just wish they accepted USD wire for this new batch, then I might order another, but chances
are pretty slim.

I suppose they only accept BCC for this new batch

Nope, they accepted only BCC for the last 2 batches, i missed last batch for only 1 day, but not for the next one! It will be open soon.
Based on last 2 batches, i think that next one as well will be only BCC.

I havent ordered any, will order 1 when next batch is open

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

My guess is Bitmain will continue accepting only BCH until S2X forks. Don’t know what they’ll do then, possibly only accept S2X coins or BTC again. Either way Bitmain is keeping BCH on life support by doing this, probably so BCH is still profitable while EDA is up when they are mining BCH.

1415 USD for the next batch S9 in bitmain website, but as usual you cant order due to the heavy traffic towards site.
Chinese business model is so so so outdated, if they would have invested in a proper server they would sell x3 times faster, but no of course...

The site is loading slower than usual, true, but it’s not crashing or anything. It’s somewhat to be expected when you have thousands of people and bots trying to check out st the same time, of course their servers will be a little bit overloaded.

Bitmain is still taking BCH only. I’ll post here when they take BTC again, they probably won’t for a long time.

No, you have no understanding of the difficulties of producing 16/14nm node chips.
Aside from still poor yields the chips have rather wide range of performance not only batch to batch but even as far as between dies from the same wafer. That variation is why Bitmain and others all use auto-tune to eek out the best performance from the chips.

Have a top end of 13.5 just means things were a bit off at their foundry TSMC for this batch.

Yeah site is working properly, but there is no clear way to order. Any click after "add to cart"; "view your cart" or similar leads to 404

Maybe its something about your PC? Or machine from which you are ordering? I just manage to put S9 into cart.

It could be that they're pointing a lot of power to BCH and this is a way for them to "keep the exchange rate up". Because there'll be a solid supply of people buying BCH to get the machines from Bitmain.

By the way, has anyone used BCH to purchase from bitmain?
It turned out that Bitfinex wallet where I got by BCH cant be used for transactions different than trading.

So I am looking for a nice BCH wallet now.

I traded BTC to BCH on Bittrex then sent it to the Bitmain wallet, no issues.

Thanks guys for the tips, will know for the next time.
This time it was hell - waiting for the bitmain cart to go up; transferring funds to bitfinex to exchange BCH, then to btc.com wallet to do the purchase; so now just waiting for the order info on bitmain site to be updated to paid hopefully Smiley
