As long it is made by man, it can be manipulate, change, modify, hack by man.
But it will be a of matter of time before someone can do that.

I don't know what kind of 'hack' we're talking about here but yes, bitcoins in generally can be hacked more or less. If you leave your address and private key lying somewhere recklessly unattended, then your account can highly likely be hacked.

But if we're talking about the blockchain, I'm guessing it's nearly impossible to do that. It's not completely impossible, but nearly. As in there's almost no way you can hack into that blockchain and sneak in a fake record.

I don't know can bitcoin wallet got hacked. But if you use the exchanger could be a scam. To prevent that enable 2FA features in your wallet.

We are talking about two things here, when you say "Bitcoin" :

1. Can the Bitcoin protocol be hacked. short Answer : No - Because it's decentralized, nobody will accept changes to the code, without validating it. People can decide if they want to run the code being

    distributed. If the majority do not accept it, the changes will not be made to the Bitcoin network. {Nobody can sneak in malicious code, because there are too many people watching}

2. Can the services built on top of Bitcoin be hacked? - Yes - This is 3rd party services and not part of the core protocol. It's like saying ....If Amazon are hacked, were PayPal or credit card companies

    also hacked? It's 2 separate entities.

I hope you get what I am saying.... This is often confused by the media and people who do not know a lot about Bitcoin. Example : If Xapo {A wallet service} is hacked, Bitcoin cannot be blamed... they

are just using Bitcoin {The technology / currency token } on their service.

well bitcoins can possibly be hacked at some point in the far future when the computers will be far better than they are now but it will take hundreds of years in my opinion

though your wallet can surely be hacked if its not a cold storage wallet, there were people who were complaining about their wallets on blockchain.info being hacked, though i have never faced it myself

this question pops up way too commonly lol . your btc balance is linked to your private key. and there are a finite number of keys so yes your balance can be hacked. but the probability is just so so small that you shouldnt worry about it.

You're talking about bruteforcing, but that's most unlikely thing that will happen. afaik almost all thefts happen when user picks up some trojan.
From there everything goes sideways, but hacking/cracking private key by bruteforce just isn't worth worrying about, for now.

As a crypto currency you cannot hack the BTC in other words its online currency which was created with some mathematical type. There possibilities to hack BTC wallet or private key if you question is about BTC wallet.  Also I’ve heard from my friend that we need some more super computer to hack BTC and that will take more BTC value than you want get by hacking. so probably no one will do.

The part with the super computer is not that far in the future. I remember reading some article that by 2030, there may be some concern about "hacking" the private keys of satoshi or something and that is the only thing (except the wallets) that can be "hacked" in the blockchain. Anyway I'm quite sure if even such computers exist in the near future, a new system will be implemented that will be more secure and even those quantum PC's wont be able to break it.

I cringe every time I see a thread titled "How many bitcoin do you own?" or "What bitcoin wallet do you use?" or "Are you holding or spending your bitcoin?" or "Where do you find bitcoin faucets?" or any other of a million titles a clever scammer / hacker might use in order to learn all he will ever need to scam / hack all of your bitcoin away.

I'm not a hacker or coder or anything computery, but if I were, then I'd post a few threads like those mentioned above, and I'd bet that at least one forum member inadvertently tells me what kind of operating system he uses, which wallet software he's using, how many bitcoin he owns, how he has those bitcoin distributed among his software, hardware, and paper wallets, what times he's usually at his computer, which online links he's most likely to click on and download, and a ton more super hackery information. (It's crazy how much info we give away without knowing it.)

Just be careful what information you share in a public forum, and you'll be fine.

Nothing can stop the super clever professional hackers if they really want your bitcoin (or any other valuable information), but you don't have to help them, either.

If youre pertaining to bitcoin network bein hacked i think that is imposible because of bitcoin networks security.But bitcoin itself cannot be hack its your wallet that is vulnerable of hacking and your bitcoins vulnerable of bein stealed.Yes wallets online are not that secured to be not hacked by professional hackers online now.It just easy to decrupt for them

Hypothetically you could hack the network, realistically you'd have an insanely difficult time doing it and it next to impossible if you were to even attempt it.

As for hacking the wallets, it's basically a game of chance but I saw an infographic that it is also basically impossible to hack a wallet's private address with today's computing power. So your Bitcoin are safe unless you screw up, get a virus, or just pure blind and dumb luck with a one in a trillion chance.

duh... nothing is 100% safe.

the safety is determined based on what you do. for example if you are careless about your own safety then it is not even 10%. you can make it as safe as possible and reach the 100% mark eventually, for example in bitcoin you can do this by making a cold storage and keeping it cold.

Due to shor's algorithm, ECDSA used in Bitcoin address key pair can be hacked (ie. deriving the private key from the public key). In the early stages of Bitcoin, P2PK is used as a way to pay to Bitcoin address this makes them vulnerable to such attacks. Bitcoin address reuse can cause a problem too. The coin generated from gensis block cannot be spent so that is safe. Theoretically, we can lock the address which are vulnerable to such attacks down but that isn't practical. I believe we can shift to another algorithm before this gets compromised.

It takes a few weeks to crack a single address so it is still quite expensive and Bitcoin addresses won't be the first one targeted.

I don't know about the vulnerability of Bitcoin network. But, if you're careless about your wallet, you're most vulnerable to  Trojans and some harmful malware. So Bitcoin might be hacked (?).

the only way it can be hacked when you give your private keys of your wallet also when your to dumb enough to give your wallet to others. also one thing if bitcoin is hackable then the hacker would be the richest man on earth.

Yes it van be hacked, but its very difficult to hack, the wallet that you used is provided with high security
Usually the problem of people's wallet being hacked not come from the wallet, its because they were being scammed using phishing site and other scam technique not because the wallet is not secure

It is possible although it is highly unlikely. If you're just trying to hacked the private key, then to be honest with the current technology it's not going to get hacked in a long time.

But it is possible to have your computer hacked, and your coins accessed.
