No doubt about we reaching a new ATH at some point, but it will definitely not happen this year. I can see $700 as the highest price of this year.

Happy about the rise in bitcoin, of course, but I'm more excited that I actually made a profit on Lisk and WAVES, which turned 0.33 btc into 0.501 btc.  That's what I consider a big win for me, as I don't bet a lot of money on these altcoins.  So I'm totally cool with the value of the bitcoin I made going up.  And let it keep going up!

I like this one as well, makes the most sense to me.
The only question-would it be a single peak or a double, like in 2013.
If the latter, ostensibly we could have a bigger peak and trough in 2017.
Timing of the first peak in 2013 was about 5 mo after halving, then a second one (bigger) in another 7 mo.
Similar peaks time-wise would be in December of 2016, then June 2017.

Well if that really happens, i'm buying beers. TBH i would also like to see that happen, but i just dont think this is the year it will happen.

I diversify my portfolio, I only hold 2 or 3 altcoins with heavy preference on ETH but that doesn't mean that I don't hold BTC (I would say my shares are 50-50 with BTC & ETH right now). It would be great if it hits 5-10k like so many nutjobs think it will but you all know it won't, it's just not possible.

bitfinex reached a high of $593.89 before tanking down heavily to just over $570 as it is right now. let's see how long the price will need to touch $600 for the first time. good thing is that the price difference between chinese exchanges and the other exchanges is gone. that's a good sign.

I didn't say that but it's just easy money, I bought at $3 or $4 now it's pushing $14, and if you bought at $10 it wouldn't be so unrealistic to see it go to $20 before the end of the year or even more.

Now if you think it's easier for BTC to go to $1500, $3000, $5000 than for to ETH to go to $25, $40 and 50$ considering the current hype then you are very naive. Yes now Bitcoin is rallying but just wait before the halvening ends. ETH held it's USD price like a champ and BTC is currently pushing $600.

But I'm on the same page man, I think BTC could be a great storage of wealth and a speculation tool, just like gold perhaps even better in these times. However ETH holds different potential and while it's not meant as a currency but I don't think Bitcoin is either...it's certainly as failure as a method for payment for example. Owning ETH to buy stuff is ridiculous (just like BTC) but that doesn't mean its value and usage won't increase with time.

Technically that is not true. The halving means that in the next ~four years 2,625 million new bitcoins come into existence instead of 5,250 million like in the last ~four years. Bitcoin is still inflationary, but it gets to a more reasonable ~5%.
