Hi

I'm probably missing something fairly obvious but how do I get to post in any other forum than this one ?!

Any pointer most welcome...

5 posts plus (I think) 4 hours of "total time logged in."  I also think you must be actively searching the forum in order to accrue time.

Thanks - I'm pretty sure that when I joined there was no such restrictions as I actually managed to post in various forums. But I am happy to get back to square one a "earn" posting rights... Wink

+1

It's really not so bad.  But one thing to keep in mind is that the forum seems to only keep track based on your last click when you are logged in.  So if you click a topic and then spend an hour reading it before clicking again it seems you get 0 (or perhaps 1) credit for minutes because the forum doesn't know that you spent an hour reading.  OTOH if you read for five minutes and then clicked you would get credit for five minutes.

Anyway I'm able to post elsewhere but I think I will stick around here for a bit until the questions asked here are no longer interesting (indicating that it's time to move to the other forums).

Well maybe take a look at some of the other messages and give a brief but helpful tidbit of a response and you will soon be able to post elsewhere...

Exactly, i think if you take more than 9 minutes between clicks it won't count the time elapsed.

It sucks to have to go through this, but I can imagine this sort of topics draws all kinds of scammers and spammers.

I am posting and flipping back and forth from some boring Excel work and this.

I still find it a bit ridiculous not to have the right to post in threads I have contributed to in the past, not having been warned (directly) of those new restrictions and not having a reference FAQ that would spell out these rules... Anyway I hope I will eventually get to the "threshold"

It's better to sit it out and be granted access to a clean board then to drown between trollturds in a sea of spam Wink

Yes, you have to keep a rather active connection.  Even reading a very long set of posts won't count unless you refresh.

Supposedly they don't count, but I believe the system is automated so. The real issues for me was not writing posts, but the 4 hours of online time. That took forever since you have to be actively clicking in the forums and not just have the window open.
