I received the following scam email today and thought I would show it in the hope that others don't fall for this scam.

How do I know it's a scam?

I don't watch porn online nor do I have a webcam also a quick search shows that quite a few Reddit users had the exact same email albeit using a different BTC addy.

Stay safe people.

Subject: Activate your Email Subscription to: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF

You received this message because someone requested an email subscription for xxxxxxx@xxxx.com to a FeedBurner feed. If you did not make this request, please ignore the rest of this message.
(Ps: If you ignore this message, all your privacy will be exposed, please read below carefully).
Hello, You do not know me and you're probably wondering why you're getting this email, right?
The answer is that I put a malvware on a site that has adult videos (porn) and you accessed the website to have fun (you know what i mean).
While you were watching the system began to function as a RDP (Remote Desktop) with a keylogger through which I had access to your screen and your webcam.
After that my software collected all your contacts from messengers, emails and social networks.
And what did I do? I created a double-screen video - First Part Your Screen Record (you have a nice taste, lol) and Second Part the recording of your webcam. And all your contacts.
So, what should you do? In my opinion U$350 is a fair value for our little secret. you will make the payment via Bitcoin (if you do not know this, search "how to buy bitcoin", it's very easy) My bitcoin address is: 1GxG5dfnAGoHwxyahWkRq29ef7BwdEEgcr
You will only have 1 day after reading this message to make the payment (I have set a special pixel in this email and I will know when you read it).
If I do not receive my Bitcoins I will send your video to all your contacts (including co-workers, family, etc ...).
If I get paid all the material will be destroyed.
If you want proof, reply with 'YEAH' and I will send your video to 5 contacts that I have collected from you.

This message was sent to you by FeedBurner (feedburner.google.com) You received this message because someone requested a subscription to the feed, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. If you received this in error, please disregard. Do not reply directly to this email.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I think you posted this in the wrong section though, this has nothing do with bitcoin. Yes its very good information though I must say. There are way too many scammers out there and we need to be always aware. Thank you for the warning. We ourselves can protect us from these people..

Huh. That's something I haven't seen before.

I'd say that it's creative and effective to say the least, and chances are it would actually worry some people although the entire email is embellished a little bit. I find the way that they cover their tracks interesting enough, though. I never thought of using a system like that.

Seems like the address hasn't had much activity since 2016, though, so you probably have nothing to worry about since this is likely something very recent and very wide in range, like what has been said on the reddit post. I'd ignore it, especially since a lot of it is full of babble designed to scare the technically inept.
