The fact that bitcoin will someday be replaced by another, more successful crypto currency, is quite possible. Even now, bitcoin cash developers have stated that they will apply for the brand "bitcoin" within six months. If a more successful and more perfect coin will be in greater demand than bitcoin, he will have to cede his place to the leader of the crypto currency. These are the laws of the market. Therefore, his team must constantly work on improvements bitcoin, which still has its drawbacks.

Now, many developers are looking for ways to improve their digital coins and it is possible that new solutions will be invented that will obscure the reputation of bitcoin.
That new solution should definitely come with another technology even better than the blockchain if it is to stand any chance against bitcoin, because many thousands of altcoins out there are all seeking to oust bitcoin from its throne and have failed terribly.

Well I think there are a lot of cryptocurrencies that can one day replace bitcoin but ethereum is not one of them. The simple reason being ethereum has unlimited supply and the fact that ethereum was never meant to become a currency like bitcoin.

No matter what but Bitcoin will not be destroyed or replaced, if that is the case the entire crypto currency will be destroyed to my estimation. Bitcoin is the master for all crypto currencies, so i strongly say its reputation is based on we users of bitcoin and in banking sector bitcoin took a leading place as bankers competitor. other crypto currencies are like earth worms before this big bitcoin snake those earthworms may be fallen like stars but not the bitcoin. The world is famous about crypto currency and the master of crypto currency is Bitcoin and this will be the future reason behind the plenty of votes and usage of bitcoin is high day by day If such replacement happens the trust on crypto currency itself breaks to my estimation.

That's right, if bitcoin will be replaced by another one, this will be the end of the whole crypto story. Becaue the bitcoin is the base of the sector. Bitcoin is not only a "COIN", it's the most significant part of blockchain and its technology provides great opportunities to us. I don't think it will be surpassed by another coin.

I doubt that this will happen. First because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency which is created in 2009 and by the history itself there are ups and downs but still bitcoin is the highest crytocurrency. There may be new alt coins that going on the market but still not that high to beat the bitcoin. This is also a sign that bitcoin is the Highest form of Crytocurrency.

well i believe that bitcoin would be replace by another cryptocurrency but it can count a decade or a couple of year befor it will happen. Because we see that the bitcoin today is really amazing and we can gain to it without a big capital because its price is unstable many prople now a days really love to use bitcoin as thier way of gaining profit so then i believe that bitcoin is not easy to perish because it is usefull now a days .

Is there a reason why it wouldn't be replaced with another currency?

It depends on the situation mate.. If the technology of that coin really supersedes what bitcoin's and other altcoins and met what the people want in other crypto currencies, much cheaper, much faster, very flexible and if possible in the future if this does not rely on the internet and free to connect the people this will beat not just bitcoin but every technology were currently using.

Definitely it will be replace by other cryptocurrency. See how Bitcoin falter now? Though it may take time but somewhere, somehow one of the cryptocurrency that is present today or to be created in the future will replace the obsolete Bitcoin. Let us wait and see how this turn of event happen. Bitcoin will not be King of Cryptocurrency forever.

Currencies come and go, crypto-currencies are similar in that regard, they cannot be eterneral although i suspect bitcoin to retain value over a super long period even though it would be replaced, like antique coins worth fiat today
