I'm planning on getting a fraction of a bitcoin. Maybe about 1/4 or 1/8 BTC just to fill my wallet with something. Is now a good time to do so?

With all honesty it is hard to tell. Less than month ago bitcoin was worth around $450 now it is worth $570+.
And here lies the problem. Current price will be either new stable price and we won't see any decline and from now on BTC price in anticipation of halving will go only up
or
market will try to correct itself and we will see bitcoin price reverse to around $470.

If your wallet doesn't have any bitcoin then it is the right time to buy. Buy before the halving starts because many people believe that its value might double after the halving. Buy now while the price is low then sell it after the halving when the price is high.

I personally consider anytime before the halving block reward (in a month) is a good time to buy. so It's really recommended to buy now but nothing is guaranteed of course .. just like any other investement . Note that Bitcoin is a long term investement so If you are looking for a simple quick profit then it's probably not the best thing to do. |

There is a lot of speculation going on right now and it only makes sense that any increase in value associated with the halving is already built into the coin. In theory it should hover around this point until the next halving, if that is really driving the high value right now. It really is a gamble, but it is more likely to dip back down in a correction move than continue to rise even more.

honestly i never hear aboutbitcoin fraction,people keep saying bitcoin with decimal,like 0.01BTC or 1/4 bitcoin mean 0.25BTC. and i think number is better than fraction,little bit weird to hear about bitcoin fraction. but anything you called it,its always good for you to buy bitcoin for now,hold it until halving and wait for your profit there. |

If you've decided to fill your wallet few weeks back you could have got a big profit by now. Now too its good to buy if you can afford because halving might give a better profit.

If you are planning to have bitcoin only after seeing the recent 100$ jump in the price recently, than i will suggest you not to hope same in coming few weeks and their is always a possibility of dump in price. But if you are planning to buy and hold for longer period than yes its better price if you like to hold bitcoin for atleast a year. |

all of the time is the good time to get bitcoin but if you are buying bitcoin for me this is not a good time because the price of bitcoin now are to high, but you will decide you buy it and keep it for a long time to gain profit.

yeah i think it is still a good time to buy bitcoin the price went up but it didn't come down. so despite the expectation for a backtrack (like a small decline about 4-5 usd going down) it is still around $570 so get in now before it starts going up again. |

It's hard to tell because prices are changing from 460$ to 580$, so I don't know about that, but i still recommend doing that because prices are not going down they are still rising up So I say fill in your wallet before prices are starts going up again, well it's not 100% chance for prices to raise up but I recommend you to do it, but it is still your choice to either buy bitcoins or not, this is only my opinion |

You are already a full member why is it that you ask this only now,you should know two months ago that Bitcoin price will increase and it is now increasing,but it's not yet late to get some but better if you can get 1 bitcoin if you can afford.. |

actually i think that now you're and too late for that, and it is good time to do that, too late because you could buy cheap bitcoins one month ago now they are more expensive than they was but good time is because many reasons too, first is that price will rise in near future for sure, so you will have bitcoins worth more than now, others are that bitcoin is more popular so you can use it more |

If you see the bitcoin average price graph you can see Less than a month ago bitcoin price was around $420 now it is worth $576. People believe that the value might cross $600+ . If you were to get some Bitcoins, it would be best to do it before the halving because the price might increase once this happens. But you should be very careful in the amount of money you put into Bitcoin, since the same is highly volatile and it may end up going back to the $450 mark once the market corrects itself. Just invest what you can afford to lose.  |

No one can tell you. Having said that the price is way steadier than I was expecting after such a good rise. What is gonna be interesting is what happens after the halving. Mining might go a little haywire and the year's major hype will have been and gone. You could buy a little of the amount you want every week and even those peaks and troughs out.

Since halving is still on its way, it can be a good time to buy coins and hold them till July. After halving, you can sell those coins and buy at a lower rate (it may drop due to panic sellers). I've been holding since April and am already in profit with the price increasing by almost $180.

You got 30 days before prices go higher then it is assuming the prehalving price goes up even further.
2 months back it was $430 so asking if now is the right time - there is no right time. Its a matter of when you`ll buy the coin before you pay more premium as you keep delaying the action to buy.

all depend on what you will do with these fraction of BTC, if it is to sell them later with a higher price that the buying price I suggest you wait some time when the price is low ($350 / $450). if it's just like you said to fill your wallet with something; you can buy at any time or you can collecte them from faucet or with signatur campaign as your rank is full member you can collect about +0.006 BTC a week. |
