What determines whether there is a need for a local board for specific country?

Why are there no local boards out there for the United Kingdom?
Can't believe that the combined 65 million populations of Scotland, Wales, England and N Ireland are not active enough in bitcoin community not to warrant a local board? Also what about Australia/Canada?

There are communities but I don't see why you see the need for a local board to exist. Bitcoin is largely decentralized, and most of the world speaks your language.

Check out r/bitcoinuk. It's dead as fuck and it would be the same on here. The UK speaks the same language as the majority of this forum. Also the actual UK Bitcoin scene is very modest compared to similar countries due to hardly any businesses because there's little or no banking available or a proper exchange.

I could understand a local board where people write with their native language but personally I find it kinda weird to see English in a local sub
Anyway with the growing community we will find a specific board for each country...
To answer your question : it depends of the number of users and their demands tho

My personal interest is if I have a specific service geared towards a specific country e.g.
I'm considering starting a thread for 25% discount on a UK Netflix Account at £4.50 bct & thought a local board would be the most
sensible place to drum up interest thought it would get lost in the general marketplace.

In your case, a local board would be an appropriate place to advertise, but I doubt that it'd receive traffic comparable to the global one. I guess that having your thread seen by people that aren't in your region of interest isn't necessarily bad, you'll just have to make clear who your posts are targeted towards.
