What do you think? Could it be that Ethereum price will be higher than the Bitcoin price by the end of 2018?

Well I think its not impossible but it will be hard because some don't trust ethereum. Maybe it will not outperform bitcoin instead it will be one of the most used coins next to bitcoin, or it will be a shitcoin by 2018. Thats the two outcomes there can be by 2018.

Looking at the charts the Ethereum price against bitcoin is not moving so much. ETH is riding on bitcoins back up the charts.
Feel the same as long as btc price is rising so will etherium. Right now it's riding btc back for sure

I would love to see it but in reality, it is near to impossible. Ethereum can brag about their development but same thing with Bitcoin too. Bitcoin had widely established it's foundation while Ethereum is just starting, In fact, in my country very few Bitcoin user knows about Ethereum. Merchants are getting familiar using Bitcoin and the thing is once business man use one brand, it would be difficult to convince them to change brand. And the Law of Supply and Demand. This will play a great role on Ethereum and BTC price.

Love reading old threads, predicting future movements. It's always so exciting to trace the trends back not through the charts and figures but through live opinions. Could we predict in 2016, when the price for Ethereum was about $10 and $600 for Bitcoin that these two coins would make an insane uprush and would be valued many-fold higher than that. Just look at Ethereum dynamics - it has become 30 times higher within a year. Isn't that crazy?

Nope not going to happen. One day I think Bitcoin might not be the top, but that will be years off. Plus bitcoin has a ridiculous market cap compared to Ethereum. It would take most investors switching completely over for that to ever happen.

I think the market cap mght be higher than Bitcoin but for the price to be higher than tat of Bitcoin will be a tough task, remember that we are moving closer to new bitcoin halving and with te number of demand for Bitcoin we can see Bitcoin reaching a new height

ETH will be dominating currency over next few years since BTC will reach new heights (~15000USD). I see so many of my friends started investing in ETH past few weeks.

I think it could be the best of Altcoin but bitcoin is like Gold. Ethereum has also new competitors like Waves and Neo! Neo could be the Chinese Ethereum!

Bitcoin has already taken a huge step forward. $7k is no joke. Just made me nostalgic about it a year ago - https://www.worldcoinindex.com/coin/bitcoin

Highly unlikely and not really needed. Ethereum has an unlimited supply, while Bitcoin has a hard cap.

Let them continue wishing that ETH will surpass BTC in terms of its exchange value. I would have accepted that there is possibility if China and other countries have not banned the raising of funds through ICOs which has been the major reason why the price of ETH increased in the first place and with the few ICOs coming out now, there are alternative platform which is Waves. The post was made in 2016 with the projection of 2 years, 2018 is a year around the corner which is less than 50 days. I will be waiting for this dream to come true.

But their a lot of advantage of ETH project based. But bitcoin has its own audience as opposed to a project based, ICO raising ETH. And I don't think Ethereum will out performed bitcoin. Bitcoin is miles ahead already and there's no way that altcoins will catch up on bitcoin in terms of marketcap or investments. Bitcoin too good and untouchable for now.

Its possible but not probable. Bitcoin's price has been increasing irrespective of the challenges it had been facing. Its not showing any signs of backing down whatsoever. Yeah, I support ethereum. And I think its price will increase very much in 2018. But for it to surpass biycoin it's a major hurdle. Probably in two to three years this could happen.

It's only probable like any other thing on the world. ETH price cannot exceed bitcoin's price, never. Let's now think about another fact. If ethereum becomes $1300-1400, ethereum surpass bitcoin for the market cap.
