I think $30 million is the average marketcap of nxt right before snapshot period. So I guess we can roughly assume the price of nxt should be declining at 1.1 % daily as time period for ardor token nears. Just a guess

What is the price of Ardor after 12 Oct HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

That logic assumes that Nxt itself is worth nothing other than the Ardor token value, which is not true.

Even if most of the increase of value comes after ARDR snapshots, once the snapshots end Nxt is still there. Your NXT are still there. And those NXT will also give you a share of the first Ardor child chain token (the transactional token, FNX in dev discussions) when Ardor launches. This besides any news for Nxt 1.0 roadmap.

The change in Nxt valuation in the next three months should reflect the difference in value perception between NXT, ARDR and FNX. Besides the craziness of the market itself.

Remembering other things down the road besides ARDR token (and how much will it trade for once tokens are distributed) is important.

Quote
It is the confirmed NXT balance that is used for the snapshot, not the unconfirmed (available) balance,
so having some NXT locked in open AE bid orders, shufflings, etc, will not affect your ARDR distribution.
https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=11478.0

So yes, you can lease and get 100% ardor. Leasing makes your effectiveBalance 0, transferring it to lessee temporarily, lessor's confirmedBalance remains the same.
effectiveBalance is forging power.

The Nxt server is the Java core process, that communicates with the network and provides the API for the client to interact with.

The Nxt wallet is the user interface, the browser code that communicates with the server API and allows the user to operate the platform.

If I have the nxt.server open and forging will I forge blocks that way or do I need to have the nxt wallet open to forge blocks? I have the nxt.server open right now forging for 6 days now and not even a block yet and I have over 200k nxt forging.

No, you can close the browser after you logged in with a passphrase. Rightclick on the NRS icon in the tray to check the status and see which accounts you are forging with.

With that in mind I think we can estimate how much people have interest in Ardor by observing the price of NXT. At current levels it says not much are interested to acquire Ardor. There were probably only the people from the NXT community and its insiders. Other than that the whales are not in yet. Just a guess.

But if I was a whale, why would I get in at these exhobirant prices? I would rather wait for it to go down again unless I was really interested in Ardor.

Well I hope so I just bought another 100k and transferred it to my account. I like the ardor status update to see how much coins you are getting on a daily basis.

I had bought some nxt 2 months after it first came out but sold it not long after as it was not enough nxt to forge anything. I must say I like the new user interface compared to the old one. The devs have put alot of work into nxt over the years.

It was said Bittrex and Poloniex will distribute Ardor to exchange NXT holders. How is that possible? Will they also take snapshots of exchange accounts every hour?
Does anybody know if we can verify how many Ardor coins we have earned on Poloniex? I am thinking of moving coins to the NXT wallet... Takes quite a while to download. Also if I move the coins do I lose a day(1440 blocks) of tokens?

I just moved more coins to my wallet and got some ardor for the few hours they have been in my wallet already and they have only 190 confirms. They snapshot hourly and distribute 2 times a day it seems.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will move most of my coins to my wallet.  There is no communication from poloniex about whether or nor you are earning tokens.
