The highest I ever paid was ~$510/BTC for about a third of a big one.
Bitcoin is supposed to be for everyone, not just the wealthy, so are you comfortable spending $50 (for example) for less than 0.1btc?

Have you ever paid more than $700/BTC for any amount of Bitcoin?

Maybe it's a good fact about me but I don't buy bitcoins at all, I do many services online and one good reason is the signature campaign since I joined this forum but the maximum that i remember was at $320.

I am pretty sure I have already spent about ~$700 worth of bitcoins but that's the collective amount I have spent.
I am not sure if I will be able to do a single transaction that's worth over $700 just yet since it is about a little less than what I currently have.

bitcoin IS for everyone. It's a currency.
It would be reasonable to say it's just for the wealthy people if you have to buy at least 1 btc at a time and cannot be broken down any smaller

He could have asked it a bit better by saying... Have you ever paid for bitcoin when the price per Bitcoin were higher than $700.  Roll Eyes ... My guess is, the majority of the people are buying Bitcoin in much

smaller quantities and not whole bitcoins at a time. I have personally bought whole Bitcoins, when the price was in the $200 range last year, but I had a good feeling about it bouncing back and I am

very happy that I did. I think some people who bought in during the $1200 price range, are still waiting for it to be profitable above that price.  Roll Eyes

Yep, I bought all the way up to $1200 in 2013, and then continued to buy all the way back down to $200 by January 2015, and then continued to buy all the way back up to $760 this month.

Bitcoin has a lot of potential and in the long term any price you see now is a good price.

Of course, I'm typically only buying small amounts, and I'm generally using bitcoin all along as well, so the total amount of bitcoin that I have hasn't increased much over the years.  I've got an amount that I can feel comfortable with if this whole experiment collapses one day, but enough that I'll be quite happy if it lives up to the potential I see for the future.
Yeah, same with me, I never stopped buying (small amounts), even when Bitcoins were worth over $1000.
In those days it was usually for making small purchases on the forums, since I had just sold the majority of my coins for a very good price.

nope but i wouldn't have a problem doing so if i needed to. and if buying above $700 per coin is a disaster and humiliation then we may as well pack up and leave now cos a bitcoin at that price level is little or no use in the real world.

I am sorry to say, but I am one of the people who has paid over $660 for Bitcoin.  The only reason I did this is because I needed to pay for products and services through Bitcoin and I could not get it elsewhere.  I do not consider it paying that much or more than what another has paid because I traded something of one value to someone who had something of the same value.

I haven't paid more than $700 for Bitcoin ever but then again I don't need to buy Bitcoins to spend on stuff I could be buying with cash from my salary because I would be paying more in fees than the actual Bitcoin discount if there is any would be worth anyways and it is just counter-intuitive for me. I am not buying Bitcoins for long-term storage either and whatever amount of coins I currently have is gained through freelancing online part-time. I guess I am more of a seller than a buyer myself and I don't trade either. Why should I buy Bitcoin for spending when I can use cash directly? It just doesn't make sense.

I sold a bunch over $900, then bought a bunch around $850 or so during a dip. Then sold again when it went up again. Then started buying again when it went down into the $600s.

I've never paid more than $700 for a bitcoin. I've never paid more than $350 for a bitcoin!

To the OP, if you paid $500+ for a 1/3 of a bitcoin than you've paid the equivalent of $1500+ for one bitcoin.

Nope, I bought $5 worth of Bitcoin when it was around 600 in 2014.

I get my Bitcoin by earning it. Which is far better than buying it imo.

I never experienced anything like that. It's simply because I haven't purchased any bitcoins in my entire life. I either produced them through mining, gambling online jobs and signature campaign. But if I have much money then maybe I can buy bitcoins and invest it to get more income

No. I would expect the person who buys it at 700 to be quite stupid. I have sold it at that price, but my maximum buying price is probably around 500 to 550.  Cheesy

I use Bitcoin for the practical eCommerce applications and the discounts and if I need to buy something worth say $200, I would buy that amount of bitcoin. So at today's price {$660/BTC} would give me 0,3026 BTC I then go out and buy the item at that price.

Some companies even give you discounts, if you pay with Bitcoin, so it is cheaper for me to use Bitcoin. The discounts + lower fees = Big savings.  Grin
