Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I start mining (Windows 7 64 bits) using https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.931 (Is this the latest)?
Can you please send me some coins:ae248382f457989761949e2beffedb9603e06ef7bd377c992e8a64b6

Hi, we're switching to https://github.com/hclivess/BismuthPOW/releases/tag/0.3 (testnet 3)
The new code will be merged as soon as preliminary testnet testing is done (don't want hanging nodes on wrong versions)
The old code from https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth will then be moved to some other repository (for historic POC reasons as of why proof of transaction does not work)

I think this will happen before Christmas, last checks are being done, bugs fixed on the fly

Will this coin work with exchanges or will it run into the same issues Pascal Coin has?

i would say it wouldn't run into any problems but i do know what your saying about pascal i did have a shot at mining it and have 7k coins and accounts, which at this point are as much use as a chocolate kettle. With Bismuth and also Clarity you will not need to mine or pay someone just to get an account  and it certainly dose not take 3 years for you to connect to the network (alone in the world) which i'm sure you would agree. From the tests on testnet 3 just now :-) sync and mining is all working great, sending and receiving coins is working great and the great thing about it all is its all the devs own work but please help out when the public test net is available :-) and the one thing i like about this coin and the dev is he's running test nets etc to try and stamp out bugs before release, not just releasing and patching up the code as he goes and he's also someone who you can talk to :-)

https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases

New version for those who have issues syncing from low blocks, I removed the rollback safety switch
made changes to the OP, not sure if it's clean though

Everyone is welcome to join the testnet 3

There are some issues with double spends inside a single block, this is a rudimentary stuff from Proof of Transaction and will be fixed
Also, there are some hash issues with rejected transactions, will be fixed

Fixed known critical transitional bugs

todo: mempool needs to check at least signature not to go down like ethereum
I was in a hurry however, so I recommend you change the value of timeout from 1 to at least 10 in your config.txt

also, mining diff is now 1 instead of 3, ill change that later

The new version seems quite reliable, I am aware of the EOL error, which is caused by insegmented mempool sync. This will be fixed tomorrow.

I fixed the miner=sender transitional bug and rolled back the main node to block 31, old block 32 is now being rejected, because it had negative balance

In order to fix the EOL error, I released version 1.04, which is incompatible with the older versions due to changes in core algorithms
