Hello,

Me and a few friend of me are planning on starting to mine for bitcoins.
We are looking for a good mine hardware/software and some tips and tricks to get started.
I have litteraly no knowledge about this, but i thought about starting to make a topic, and in the meanwhile doing my own research.

I have a good pc, but the Power Supply is much lower than needed. I have been looking at the AntMiner S7-LN with Power Supply from BitMain.
Does anyone know a better deal?

Also could someone tell me how it would be best to install the miner?

if you are in the usa  try to  get a modded s-7ln unit from sidehack

his mods will make the machine more efficient and really quiet.

Unless you have super cheap power you may not make a profit.

 But you will learn and decide to:

 A) stop
 B) go crazy and expand.

Alright if you are going to mine Bitcoin then your PC doesn't matter, miners like AntMiner S9 and S7 are asic devices that don't require a pc to mine. You need to realize these put out a lot of heat and a noise, are you prepared for that? Do you pay your current electric bill and if so how much is it per KWH? Miners use a LOT of electricity and this is usually the biggest factor in if mining would even be profitable. Do you have a location to mine at? Would it be in your home? Do you have pets or small children that might interfere or touch it and get hurt? Do you have a wife/ girlfriend that will put up with this?

Mining isn't just a easy peasy thing and especially how miners are now they are serious things and it takes a bit of knowledge to not screw up.

I think the heat is not a problem. I have 2 windows which are always open. The noise might be a problem, but i dont know how much noise it is. I have a few places in my house where i could install these miners, so i think i would still be able to sleep in the night

The electric bill would be the main thing i have to watch out for. I live in the Netherlands and i have to pay 0.21 euro/kWh and this is more than in other countries. The profit doens't have to be high, because it is just a project i wanted to do. I just want to earn more than i lose.

The location would be in my bedroom, but like i said i have an other place to build it. I still dont understand what your pc has to do with the miner. I have the idea your PC shows what is happening in the Antminer, and that i should be connected. My PC is located in my bedroom, so i dont know if the Antminer has to be close to it or not. I have some people in my household who i have to discuss this with. No pets/children to look out for.

 you will lose money your power cost is too high.  You need to be under 8 us cents per kwatt to stand a chance.

as for noise the s-7ln with the mods will be quiet.  but your power cost is pretty much a killer for profit.

Try to mine alt coins, Monero is the best option IMHO.
Mining bitcoins for fun can be an option for you, but it is obvious that you are definitely not interested in losing more than what you will invest.
