XAPO Hot Wallet Service did turn into SCAM! BE AWARE !

I would really appreciate if users of xapo who where locked could explain if the mistake was on their end or a mistake by xapo.

I am using xapo to pool all my faucets Satoshi and don't want to get blocked eventually.

2fa is not yet mandatory does it help to avoid problems?

I have been a XAPO user for over a year and it has not failed me once. I might be wrong but I believe I had a handphone number tied with them, and 2FA enabled. And I do not access XAPO through a proxy.

After Reading this thread and OP's accusation I went to Xapo. logged in my account there and Send all my balance to my electrum address.. the transaction done pretty fast and I got my money to my electrum wallet in only few minutes.
now I am feeling that there is everything fine with xapo. but OP is doing propaganda against the service. I don't know what happened with his account why his account got locked. he may tried to do something illegal and got banned from the site.
but for me Xapo is still working fine and good..

Me too. but I am just using the simple wallet to receive and send payments. I have not get any problem but after reading this post. I prefer to go to xapo and redeem all my balance from there. taking care is better then loosing money. I've 0.5btc in xapo and they are too important for me. I've earned them in 6 month with my hard works. and don't want to loose them..

I think you suggestion is the best way, for now, to avoid if sometime xapo will turn into the scam, but anything can happen. we didn't know about the future of xapo. Better to save your money into your secure wallet.

The reason why I like XAPO and why i don't believe it's a scam is that it funded by some of the biggest names in private equity (e.g. Fortress Investment). These guys earn millions per day and would never Support a Company that is scamming for a few Bitcoins. Just not worth the negative PR. I doubt all These big names involved in XAPO would Support any such corporate policy.

I am asking, because online wallet services are known for monitoring EVERY single transaction and bitcoin flow.

Every incoming/outgoing transaction is checked. I am not exactly familiar with Xapo and their ToS.

But I know for a fact that if you gambled with your BTC and use for example Coinbase wallet your account will be frozen as well.

So this - or other 'suspicious' activity is most likely the reason your account is 'blocked'.

That are mined Coins which i directly load uppon the Xapo Debit Card from the miningcz pool.

you use ur real ip-adress, email, id, widdraw from an atm with an inbuild facecam, or whatever and your country has a law that you need to pay taxes on mining. like here by me.
may they get forced to lock the account if its not a registered wallet for a real company.
I also bet that some (real legit) companys from europe need to work together with the governments.

Wallet online is very risky. I think it's safer to use wallets offline. However I use the wallet of xapo and I managed to move large amount of bitcoins without any problem. Hear no lock. 30 minutes ago I made a shipment of 2 BTC Xapo to my Wallet offline. Everything went perfectly as expected. I think this problem is only happening to you. Try to contact the XAPO. For me this is one of the best online portfolios.

Because they are not smart enough to not use desktop wallets where you and only you are in charge of your bitcoins. I hope lesson is learned and you never try online web wallets again. ive been using a offline wallet a long time. Now iam active again on bitcoin qt because Xapo blocked my funds

In any Case guys! Ive read now that several people dont have the Problems, but several got the Problems - From one Day to another Your Account got locked.

Ive had using Xapo since the beginning and never expected something like this. It also went every time well and i find it great to pay no tx fee from the Wallet.
So and Today.. Ive lost my completly Balance?.. Thats how it looks.. and how it works for Xapo. They will simply lock time by time several Accounts, so that it will never come to a big crowd but ever be profitable

All you need to do now is contact their support send raining tickets so they can actually seen your problem and thats the reason why i dont really trust any web wallet for storing my. BTC because anytime they can close out our account if they find something malicious transaction happened and try to use blockchain its more safer than any wallet existing in web wallet industry.
