Hi All

So I, along with at least 30 other people that I have come across in the last few months, have invested in the NEM ICO.

They had a redemption period, effectively, of just a few months - with very poor communication - and many people missed this - the result was that they simply kept those people's stakes and just told them sorry when they come looking to redeem or get more involved.

Well, since I have gotten involved in their forum, and helped clean up some dead links and old sites that made NEM look bad, even though I was denied my stake.

And now... Poof. My whole email domain is blocked from registering on the forum, my account is deleted and all my IP addresses that I've used on the forum are blacklisted (I share public IPs with a few hundred other ISP customers from the various buildings where I access the internet) - completely from registering or logging in!

And all my old posts are WIPED!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! NEM - Egalitarian? Wow.

Now this has gotten me thinking - if a "movement" with such a bad attitude can get so much traction - just imagine what a good community with the same sort of notions, and more ability to include people and better powers of execution can do... and one that actually has some good grounding to stand on.  An added benefit would be to make good to people who can prove that they have been sidelined from the NEM "hyprocrite" community.

I am investigating ways that I can win back the dignity of those of us who "donated" to NEM, and got only abuse and insult in return.

Are there any of you reading this? Do you have any ideas? I have now given up on NEM to make good, so lets band together and figure out something for ourselves?

I would like to try to create what we saw in NEM - but what in NEM seems to only an empty promise.

Are you a well standing member of the NEM community itself? Do you condone this behaviour of your moderators and those running your project? I would hope not, and I would urge you to think where that could lead and act accordingly... doesn't this just fly in the face of everything Cryptocurrency and especially an "Egalitarian" one, stands for? Would you like to see competition rise out of those you sidelined? Or would you be willing to start a fund and donate some of your stake to that fund, to make good with the > 2% of your community that you cut out just because they were tending to other things?... Huh

I'm not surprised in the least.  NEM was started by that lying, cheating, stealing communist UtopianFuture who claimed literally hundreds of stakes for free.  They have a lot of nerve denying anybody their stake after that fiasco.  I'm sorry that those communists robbed you and violated your freedom of speech.

What you call effectively a few months was about half a year. With multiple extensions.
Poor communication is also complete and utter crap. We posted on all forums, and linked to those postes on all channels, PMed everyone on btt twice and even sent messages through NXT to the accounts we knew hadn't registered yet. We didn't have e-mail addresses. That's not mentioning the 100s of pms I answered to people that actually spent 1 minute to just ask if something was unlcear. So what beyond that would you have expected ?

Redepmtion didn't go perfectly but you are making it sound way worse than it actually was. You say there are at least 30 people with your problem. Well there are over 1000 that redeemed without any problems.

You got banned from the forum probably - and this is really just a guess - because you opened multiple threads like this and posted about this topic in every active thread you could find even if the thread wasn't even remotely related to redemption. At some point cleanign up after you in the forum is going to be too much of a hassle. I'm making this guess because i thought about banning you twice but then didn't do it. I guess someone else just finally had enough.

Communist apologetics.  What about the time when your brainiac community was going to take my stake away from me, because they didn't like what I was saying about their glorious leader UtopianFuture (even thought it turned out that I was 100% correct about him)?  NEM was founded on thievery and deception.  UtopianFuture and the others "devs/mods" unfairly received stakes according to their own rule of "1 person = 1 stake".  The whole NEM thing is ridiculous anyway.  POI and "equal distribution" are both jokes.

NEM was always a scam, a classic p&d coin for devs and their close friends.

It took nem two years to reach this market cap, anyone could have gotten nem stakes almost for free, all you had to do was show interest and pay a token fee as little as .01 Btc , those who stuck with the coin and believed are reaping the reward. Some people got a stake just for posting meme. The amount collected at ico was noting compared to dao or even aves or lisk. People are just hating cus they missed out.

The New Economy Movement is a very and successful interesting project,

but I see TaunSew is back posting about strange things with the BigSirko account.  TaunSew/BigSirko, some go as far as to say it's the utopianfuture dude, is one of the very few bad aspects of the new aconomy movement, to me personally.

I had written a statement about the utopianfuture shocker back in 2014 in the [NEM] Come-from-Above NEM Affairs Statement.

Also not surprised. Certainly NEM distribution is even worse than other ICO-coins (that's also why it pumps like this).

Funny that people come back to whine the moment the stakes get some real value.

Like patmaster said, everybody had multiple opportunities and reminders to get things arranged.

To prevent drama like this, the redemption for any stake was closed and will stay closed.

I don't find it strange. When your "stake" has no value you would not care, but if it does....

P.S. Personally, I did not follow NEM development.

...PMed everyone on btt twice...

I can vouch for one of them personally. Back then, kodtycoon asked for my help in throwing together a script that would PM everyone on the NEM stakeholder list. (He ran it on his own machine, iirc.) I still have that script in my backup drive.

It is true that NEM's distribution was not the best, but it is also far from being the worst in the altcoin world. I didn't participate because it was looking like a scam at first - prices were higher every couple of days, there was no roadmap, and first it was a simple NXT clone.

But the devs have delivered a decent cryptocurrency with an interesting extension to proof of stake. PoI is not solving every problem of PoS (and probably has the same problems regarding N@S attacks), but as I repeatedly pointed out, it is an algorithm that favours crypto businesses like exchanges and online wallets. That is good for small cryptocurrencies, as these are just the services that they need to grow.

The danger of PoI is that probably when NEM really grows (e.g. is used at least on the level like actual Bitcoin) it will have problems with scalability because the PoI algorithm, in some ways, favours blockchain spam.

true story. i can screen shot my sent box if anyone should doubt. its literally hundreds of pages of private mails, accrued over days upon days of continuously running the script. btt messaging limitations meant messages had to be sent much much slower than was optimal.

hell, heres a screen shot for anyone who wants proof that every possible effort to reach stake holders was taken:

20 mails per page * 628 pages = 12560 messages. the VAST majority of which were emails sent to nem stake holders.

12560 messages / 10 real people = 1256 sockpuppets / stakes per person

Some of the more intelligent of us see past your games, but at least you tried.
