Siemens to spend 1 bln euro for hi-tech startups including blockchain
The German industrial giant is planning to invest generously in a number of innovative projects. Among them are blockchain applications for the secure transfer of data in industry and energy trading.

Creating a Bitcoin client that fully implements the network protocol is extremely difficult. Bitcoin Core and some of its derivatives are the only known safe implementations of full nodes. Some other projects attempt to compete, but it is not recommended to use such software for anything serious. (Lightweight clients like Electrum and Bither are OK.)

I love Siemens!

This is great news. Big companies are finally realizing what can be done with the Blockchain.

This is great news. Big companies are finally realizing what can be done with the Blockchain.
Are you sure it is that positive?
It is not investing in BITCOIN, it is investing in blockchain tech and they will most likely will explore idea of creating private and independent blockchain suited for their needs.
They won't add any value to bitcoin's blockchain at all, so we as bitcoin users won't profit from their research at all.

It is good news from researchers point of view, but from standpoint of bitcoin community not so much.
