Above is my conversation with a paxful.com staff, when i got scammed out by someone in this forum, i have sent payment as donations via a site, and now paxful.com can really just ask the buyer to refund, don't but asked me to file for non-auth transactions? how ridiculous is that? someone kindly advice where else can i bring this matter to. scumbags like paxful.com needs to be taught a lesson.

You can chargeback via PayPal and it seems this user scammed you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=798843. Payful looks shady if they keep saying BTC won't be released to you and recommend you to do a chargeback.

thanks for ur advice erika, but i made that payment in donations. u can't charge back a donation. the only option i have in paypal is to contact seller. or report as unauthorized access. so paxful the smart scumbags, they adviced me to go do that. which i have already forwarded the entire log to paypal. obviously paypal can't do anything to them. but i am sure backpage can. they claimed to be official exchanger for backpage, using hacked techniques, anyway to cut it short i informed backpage. i really love to see those scumbags get shut down

back to topic, if i charge back based on unauthorized access, i wont win it, because i really did login to my paypal. i am not going to lie to paypal about things that did not happen and get my account banned cos of 200 bucks.

I'm not so sure about chargebacks with PayPal as I haven't used it to send money. But I read that any method of payment can be chargedback if you contact support and say that you haven't receive the product after sending the money. I read that in their TOS.

Also, you need to submit a proper scam report in this thread if the scammer is from this forum so that Default Trust members leave him ratings and he isn't able to scam anyone later.

You can contact this user and try to present him your situation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=520886
As far as I know he is a Paxful support staff. They also have their own forum here: https://talk.paxful.com

Here is another discussion about Paxful if you find anything helpful from there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1337755.0

The problem is that it was donation, not selling of product. So only unauthorized transaction can be chargeback. Scammers know that, and one time i was scammed like this also. Never donations, only normal selling transaction!

first things first. what did i lie about? and ethey, stop using new alts. anyway im sick of all of u losers. go ahead and spoil the community. anyway 200 is nothing to me, but its probably a sack worth of grains for u. so yea keep it. i tip the bartender more on good days. this thread is about paxful not doing what is right. not a thread for me to prove i am not lying. well, the fact now is i have sent the paypal, and i lost my paypal, yet paxful awarded the coins to the buyer. may i ask why? on the basis i MAY have a chance of charging back? then they jolly well award every single transaction to buyers from now. because if not, i spoke to my lawyers, i can sue them for dependency, and dont worry im not going aginst paxful, im going against the owners personally. check with ur lawyers if i am right what i am saying now. oh yea i remember their names now. ray and arthur. and being responsible due to the fact, they are acting operators/owners of paxful.com.

There have been several other similar threads about Paxful pulling scams in the past. It looks like they steal money selectively, on people they think are "suspicious" and in situations like this there is nothing you can do to fight back. I don't know how accurate this information is, but it's stored on their domain lookup (not verified in any way):

don't listen to a scammer. any method on paypal is subjected to chargeback, because you can file for non-authorize transaction. like a bank. however, if you file for that, paypal will first investigate if that really did happen. if found out that you lied about it, your paypal might be banned.

If the funds were backed with a credit card, you can chargeback through that card. So, no, it is not impossible.

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this:

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I agree with OP 100%. This Paxful site is a joke, and makes all Bitcoin look like a scam.

We review sites independently to help the community and put our experiences online.

Paxfulreview.com is the website for our review of Paxful. Just want to share that with the community. Pay the love forward.
