Do you have a miner? I would do a lot of research before you purchase one. I would also wait until the halfening has taken effect.

If you havent bought a miner yet then i would seriously do some research. you wont make much of a return in investment in mining bitcoin but if you decide you do want to mine then you might considor mining alt coins. theres more money to be made unless you setup an industrial farm.

Hi I'm completely new at this. I want to get some consulting on how to set up my own miner. Can you please help?

The miner set up is a crucial thing. Before you ask you must first identify what kind of miner are you using, what are your equipment s and its capacity and what are you going to mine. Well since I don't know what kind of miner you have I am guessing that you only have a bitmain antminer. Since my miner friends are hard to contact I recommend you to watch tutorial videos on you tube and search help on Google

Hi I'm completely new at this. I want to get some consulting on how to set up my own miner. Can you please help?

Sure I will help you  out.

1) power cost is really important :
under 6 cent you should make money
 7 to 10 iffy
over 10 cent you will lose money

this is per kwatt

2) how much power do you have to spare?
a stat of the art miner  like the s-9 spends 1.3 to 1.4 kwatts an hour  that is around 1008 kwatts a month at 10 cent $100.80  a month to run

3) how loud can you stand the s-9 is over 70db and can whine real nasty.

4) how to you plan to cool your gear 1400 watts is about 5000 btu.

I have 6 units  5 s-9's and 1 s-7  they use  around 7300 watts the fans use about 300 watts

so 7600 watts to mine with  68th.

this would cost you close to 10000 usd to set up

this is more then most mine with  and I hope to net get back 15000 for my 10000 over the next 8 months

I purchased 5 s-9s   for 10 k.  the set up you see is a solar farm.  I partnered with buysolar:

 here is the thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1369207.0

Our deal is I do the mining gear he does the build and the solar power.

So I have almost no risks for power and building.  He has almost no risk for gear.

we split the coins we mine.

Yeah, surfing the net is the most convenient way to learn unfamiliar things such as mining. But, you need to filter it because not all information in the net is reliable. Some will make your profit smaller. So, try to compare and see what's effective and stick to it.

If you already have a mining tool then the next step is you need to figure out a way to have the special tool to put mining and also with cold temperatures. because performance does not stop mining tools (always works) and after that you can find materials about mining in Youtube or in various articles on the internet

Unless you have seriously low energy costs and a shit load of money to through at mining then i would say you are prob better of just buying bitcoin and holding it...... Shocked

Did you rent a s9 ,How much for electricity 1 month?

how much you earn per month in USD with this setup...

Well we split coins and I pay no power cost. But I purchased all the mining gear.

So 5 miners cost me quite a bit.

But they are doing 56 th and 28th is mine this month it should earn .94 btc or about 600 usd.
Last month 700 usd month before that was more like 1000 and month before that was 700 as I had only some of the month.
So as of now around 3000.   Price of gear was about 8000.  So I have 5000 to break even.
If I sold them today I would get about 6500. Which would mean I am up about 1500 on a 8000 dollar investment if I liquidate today. Time span would be June 14 to October 1 for that calculation.
