If you have installed a Shimano Derailleur did you use the official manuals ?

I have for a few cheaper parts and found them to be helpful.
There is actually some subtle little tricks to tuning Derailleurs.. mentioned in the PDF's.

I for the 2nd time changed my GripShifters..
I went from brand name Gripshifter to new model then today to a Shimano brand Revoshifter set.
The Revo shifter's online manual mentioned tuning the front & read Derailleurs.
Similar to Derailleur PDF's i have read before.

Anyway check them out if you never read them and you are into that stuff.

And yeah the Shimano brand Revoshifters were soooo much better than all the others i ever tried.
I just threw them on quick with no special effort to tuning and it was easy.
The performance was noticeably better than all others i tried.
Revoshifters are also cheap and the easiest to get the cable into.
I'd recommend them !

Almost all the bike parts on my current bike are from Shimano.
They make good parts even the super cheap versions.

..check out their "dealer" PDF manuals  Wink

PS:
Yeah i know Twist Shifters suck but i don't mind them if they are working properly.

I put these on and they are pretty cool (7 speed with visual gear indicators)

What was weird is i had no idea Shimano made Twist style shifters until i got these free recently.
