Long, hot shower (masturbation, optional) --> Listen to classical music for 10-15 minutes while drying off --> Drink green tea and call your most understanding friend --> Read a book or find an article on a subject you are really passionate about --> Make a list of three goals, no matter how small, that you want to accomplish tomorrow --> Sleep --> Accomplish goals --> Feel better Smiley

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I distract myself anyway I can. I'll watch a movie, or play videogames, or even do chores. I tend to dwell on things so losing myself into another thing is the best option. For my worst moods, I just go to sleep and most of the time I wake up in at least a slightly better mood.

Thing is I sleep at any time; for an hour or 2, and wake up with a little more stamina to face my problems; or at least a calmer approach to them. The question was how to cope with an extremely bad mood.

It's sort of a "fuck this universe right now, I'm just gonna clock out for a while" and put my sentience / conciousness on hold.

YES! Nothing better than making breakfast after a hot shower while listening to classical music.

That sounds very...old? Not that there is anything wrong with it tho...I have a French Bulldog and it always helps cuddling with that clown. He is awesome.

I look at images of space or of the earth from the moon. It might sound weird, but to be reminded of how incredibly small I am in the universe makes whatever hangup I am having at the time seem that much smaller.

It maybe doesn't sound healthy, but the think through it that my therapist told me to do awhile back never worked, it would just make it worse and go on for longer.

That's where it's at. Some jazz with some coffee at night too lol

Even if something happened to create your bad mood, you’re responsible for maintaining it, and it’s easy to do that if you refuse to see the other side of situations. If you want to believe your best friend meant to hurt you, or the world is against you, or your boss didn’t promote you because she’s out to get you.
Instead of fueling your anger for your friend, feel compassion for the pain she must be in; she’d never hurt you on purpose. Instead of thinking the world is against you, put your day in perspective; everyone has bad days. Instead of imaging your boss is out to get you, realize she had a tough choice to make, and you’ll have more opportunities to advance down the line.
Sometimes when you’re down, it might feel like you have to stay there. But the truth is we can influence how we feel by choosing what we do. Sitting around sulking causes prolonged sadness. Doing something proactive will help you start to feel better.
When you realize you’re the only thing standing between you and a smile, you get motivated to take action. That’s the thing about feelings: you can’t sit around waiting for them to change. You have to do something to change them.

I find it helpful to distract myself and normally that comes in the form of playing mindless videogames that can keep my brain off the thought that is getting me down.

If it's a bad day (meaning an emotional/mental bad day) nothing is better than having a strong brow game and wearing my nice pjs (... I'm not together enough most of the time to wear real clothes if I'm not leaving the house).

When you aren't sad anymore, go to the gym with this relatively minor weight gain, and go hard. "Wow, you're really going at it!" "Well, I had a rough weekend and major binged, so you know. Gotta burn it off.." "Oh, that sounds terrible. take me to/let me buy you dinner and tell me about it."

If I'm feeling a bit down or overwhelmed at work, I watch shows that make me laugh no matter how many times I've seen them, like Futurama. If that doesn't help, I talk to my friends, some of which are people I've known for years IRL and others that I met here.

Music always does it for me. Sometimes it's Motley Crew type music, sometimes it's Simon and Garfunkel type music. All depends on WHY I'm in a bad mood.
