For those waiting on the info for the MSI Z170A M5 Gaming board and 7x GPU support I finally have it working on both of my boards.

1) Make sure you're running the latest BIOS!
2) Enable 4G
3) Set PCIe support to "Auto" - DO NOT MANUALLY SET TO GEN1. THIS CAUSES MAJOR ISSUES
4) Enable onboard graphics startup as first! I believe this is changing "PEG" to "IGD" or something in the Advanced BIOS
5) Plug your monitor into the ONBOARD graphics
6) Use either simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enableexe0ANDips0.imgc or simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enablerc60.imgc (sorry, I don't remember which I used!)

My 14x GPUs have been stable all night long!

So glad someone figured it out! Really appreciate it.

Is there any chance you remember which version worked? I'm about to make a bunch of smos SSDs for myself and I'd hate to have to do it all over again when I start adding 3 more cards to my 4 card gaming m5 rigs in a week or two.

Is it just my feeling or are they starting to spoil the version? Is it not enough to upload the version from the main page? I have the MSI Z270-A PRO ordered, will it work or do I need a special edition? How will updates work with these versions?

Awesome thanks!

I saw earlier you were not satisfied with the memory on your Asus(?) cards. If you're looking for any more, I'm having great results from my MSI Armor 570s. All of them so far have Hynix and can hash at 30mh/s.

Undecided those are nice rates - problem is my local Microcenter is sold out of all AMD cards and I had to buy what was available.

I am having a strange issue. On the smOS website it says my rig is offline but I can see with the onboard graphics on my monitor that it is not offline and that it is mining. I also see on the pool website that the rig is active and that it is working as it should. Any suggestions to get this to display as online on the website? It usually stays online on the smOS website for 1-2 hours and then goes offline (only on the website, it is actually working fine)

Additionally, I have noticed when it is online, if I click to restart the rig, it shuts off and never comes back on.
Meaby cloudflare is blocking your ip, or you have some connection issues ?

hi, for two days everything worked great, the third day i unplug my monitor from the mobo hdmi and then my sixth gpu keeps crashing...i plug the monitor back in but it still keeps crashing until i lower my OC..why is this? two days the OC held, are hdmi dummies needed?
Something with your hardware or too much OC.
The mining world works like this.

Hello Guys,

I am new on ETH mining and simplemining tool.

My miner is now up and running with a good speed, but power usage is 150 watt per RX480 compared to windows 90 Watt.
I saw that the "Powerstage slider" has no impact. Is this working for you? can I add the powerlever per CMD or change it manually over SSH?

Thanks.
This works only with some gpus.
You need custom bios with added offset

Whoa there's a paid option? How did I miss this.. what does the paid option give us??

It's not fully implemented yet I don't think, but it's setup to be a paid service in future. Check the Account/Deposit page on the dashboard.
Guys, everyone received info Tongue
You can deposit your cash for future fees.
The fee is 2$ per rig per month.
The fee isnt yet working but in few days it will be start decreasing your account.
Anyway when you are using smos you should pay those few dolars but if you wont - then i wont disable your rig now.
Accually after some grace period i will do something annoying to force people to pay the serivce fee but i dont want to stop anyone's rig becasue it would be stipid.
So i will do something stupid like anoying captcha or something or some other limits.
Anyway if you are using, just pay, it is really very little fee. 2$ per rig which is earning 200-300$ monthly ? come one Tongue

Right now guys i am reorganising my company/ moving to other office and preparing to SSRv2 to be ready for shipping in 2 weeks.
Anyway The grouping feature is very near Wink
Let me just get those other things finish Smiley
There is also one guy working on undervolting in linux but i dont know if he will succeed in making such utility.

I am experiencing random reboots on 2 of my rigs. What can I do to check what is causing these reboots? What logs can I look at or enable? I'm running off a Sata drive instead of a USB stick so I am OK with it writing out log files.

I had the rigs over clocked but have since removed all over clocking and it is still having reboots. Anywhere from 3 - 10 reboots a day.

Rig 1 is 6 470 4gb msi armor on a tb250-btc mobo.
Rig 2 is 5 470 8gb msi armor on a tb250-btc mobo.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I am pulling my hair out over these things. I have 6 new risers coming so I can swap a few out to see if that helps.

Well, my SMOS rig has a single 280X in it. So it does $60-70 a month BEFORE electricity costs (which is roughly half of it). $2 per month for me means at least a 5% fee (most likely more). Other options would be great. You could run ads on your site as an alternative payment option.

that's actually a good idea... base it upon how many gpus are in the system, but base the price off of a 6gpu system... so if your system hash 6 gpu, you pay $2... if your system has 5 gpu, then you pay 5/6 of $2 so then your price would be actually be $1.67, and so forth... i think that would be fair.

can you share some pictures from your miner with the pci-e splitter?
Are the splitter supported from the smOS or must you make some configs?

cant see 8 maybe H81 limitation

Don't count shares, just look at the pool's display of stats. Shares depend on not only the pool you're using, but also the vardiff settings on that pool - it's pretty much a useless metric.

But if my calc hash rate is half of the sent hash rate I'd be earning half of what I should be correct?

Awesome thanks!

I saw earlier you were not satisfied with the memory on your Asus(?) cards. If you're looking for any more, I'm having great results from my MSI Armor 570s. All of them so far have Hynix and can hash at 30mh/s.
Undecided those are nice rates - problem is my local Microcenter is sold out of all AMD cards and I had to buy what was available.

I've actually been tinkering with my settings, and have slowly been lowering the powerstage and raising memclocks.   All 6 of my 4GB Asus STRIX 470s say they have Hynix ram, but 5/6 of them are doing great (1970 mem) and one isnt as good (1920 mem).    So more speed and less watts overall.    Will try lowering the powerstage more later, but nice to see they can keep it going at lower powerstages.

Nice results on the 570s.  I'd love to get 30MH.  I'm stuck just under 28 myself.  What did you do to those MSIs to get 30MH? Are they 8GB or 4GB models?  Can't say I can complain about the ASUS cards too much since they were $120 each after rebate at microcenter.

It can be done in windows and it'll move over to smOS
The settings are saved on the card
That's how I did it anyways.
