I am having a problem that I have not seen on the forums.
Using claymore 11.7 on 4 rigs.  Rig 1 runs happily along and seldom needs any resets.  It is overclocked the most.
My new rig has 12 cards on an Asus B250 MB and sapphire nitro+ cards.  bios modded to 1180 core, 2150 or 2130 memory 940 volts and memory timings 1500 for 1625 and up, but I use the 1625 or even 1750 timings for 2000.

The rig can has for hours okay but then some of the cards will drop to super low rates like 1 - 5 Mh or even drop out all together.  MB is flashed to 1010 which is the newest. It should not be temp because that is reached in the first hour and these do not drop out for well after that time.  I am fairly good with computer hardware and I don't think there is a problem there because I am seeing this on 3 rigs but not rig 1.

Comments?

hi all, I have a rig with 8 RX 580 4GB Nitro + using smos which was working fine for couple of months. Since couple of weeks started throwing a lot of errors on the screen:

[ 848.039335] pcieport 0000:00:1c.1: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, id=00e1(Receiver ID)

and this keeps repeating.
I replaced all the risers, switched the ports used by the cards, and this keeps going against the same port always and rig is unstable.

Any hints for me?

thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad pcie extender. Another thought, depending on your location, summer temperatures are here and you may need to dial back your overclock settings slightly for the warmer temperatures.

When you say you replaced the risers, did you replace the entire riser (PCIe to USB adapter at MB, USB 3.0 cable and the riser itself)?

Yes, everything from the pcie port on the motherboard to the riser itself and the riser.

Yes, everything from the pcie port on the motherboard to the riser itself and the riser.

Try with one working riser and gpu and try system with every pcie ports. ( Forexample  connect one riser to pcie0 boot system and try mining u look it iseems ok then shutdown and try other pcie port.. ) if al works one port fails it can be motherboard side problem.
if all ports works then maybe problem is psu side.
if u didnt already change usb pen/ssd / try with fresh one.

thats all i remember when i am facing smilar problems. hope it helps.

What is the max number of GPUs per rig?
i have some 12 gpu rigs at amd but had some problems some works ok some not
by nvidia side tried 12 but i always had problems
9-10 cards work flawlessly
these may be related to my configs though...

can someone ban this guy? as far as lyra goes.. i'm having success with    ccminer-KlausT-v8.21 but i haven't done much testing..  Apparently tpruvot  supports CUDA 9 but i'm not sure if that version has been added to SMOS yet. It's listed as either ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-cuda8.0 or ccminer-tpruvot-v2.2.5-x16s-cuda8.0 in the rig groups.

on your router dhcp table

From a Command Prompt, PING the IP, get a response, then run ARP -A in Command Prompt. That should give you the MAC (Physical Address).

Is there any way to find my mac address so that I can assign IP to my systems?
on your router dhcp table

From a Command Prompt, PING the IP, get a response, then run ARP -A in Command Prompt. That should give you the MAC (Physical Address).
Once you find the IP address of the machine use putty to ssh into the miner. the login and password are miner. from there type sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces  then change dhcp to static. hit enter to go down a line, type address x.x.x.x whatever your ip you want to give it is. Go down a line again,
type netmask 255.255.255.0 or whatever your subnetmask is. Go down a line again,
type gateway 192.168.1.1 or whatever your gateway is. Go down one more line again,
Type dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8 this will use google as the dns.

Now hit CTRL + O and hit enter to write out the file and then hit CTRL + X to exit

Type sudo reboot and hit enter to reboot the rig for the changes to take affect.
