You see, this is Linux advantage. It just works Thats why most servers in the world are on linux. The disadvantage of linux is that you have little performance loss like 1-3 % and you propably need to have custom bios (but you need to have it anyway if you want to squeeze best profits) But if you will add managment of farm 100+ rigs then managing this Windows "thing" is F massacre I personally am using Windows on my Lenovo Yoga 3 14 laptop while linux just had too many issues on it. But i would still go to Professional MAC (its also unix system) + servers and miners on Linux.

if you use claymore 8.1 here it (a linux system) runs a tiny bit lower then running it with windows. but it is far more stable. so the trade off is you can control the miner from any pc in the world . plus it crashes less. this one does 233 on windows and 229 on linux plus I can set to 1 and use less power.

I just brought 6 MSI 470 4GB gaming cards online last night, and they are averaging 26mh/s per card. I am running the cores 1100 MHz and memory at 2200 MHz at power level 4. I am using Claymore v8.1, ETH only.

I cannot overclock using this OS. I am using the most up to date version with claymore miner for only eth and my cards are visiontek to 480 8gb. When I put any values in the OC settings the console just sits are the OC settings part and never turns on the miner. I've tried 915 core and 2200 mem with power level 5 and get nothing. I've also tried it with power level 7 and still nothing. So as of now it mines at default of 915 core and 2080 mem and gets about 21 mh/s.

Personal review:
Have been using it for the last 5 days now. Great OS for mining, easy to use (almost like plug and play) Would highly recommend for new miners. Don't even bother with a SSD just get a thumb drive. (motherboard+powersupply+cpu and a fan+GPUs with risers+4gigs of memory) nothing fancy.
Thank you for sharing with the community.

You are pushing your GPU memory too far, im really surprised they are even running at 2200 when the stock is 1650. Flash optimised timings and lower clocks, 26 is easily achievable with memory at 1850.

If you want i can look into your rig but you would need to email me at admin@simplemining.net with ether forwarded 22 port of your miner or team viewer details to any windows in the same network + ip address of your miner in network. I can look at this why is it not mining but most propably its something wrong with risers ir hardware ? Did you tried less gpus or switching risers ? In mining world, rig could make unpredictible problems. Switching risers can even fix problems Once i had this stupid rig which was crashing all the time, i switched gpus, risers, nothing helped so i disassempled it and connected everything once again.. Gueess what ... It started to working ok Anyway try if you rig will start mining with 1,2,3,4,5 gpus and see if one of them causing problem that it stops on OC.

I am new to running this card. Could you point me in the right direction for the mods you have in mind? As for my current settings, I, too, was surprised they remained stable at that setting. However, I have always proceeded with the assumption that if the card remains stable over 12+ hours and temps remain in check, it is good to go.

Does this OS support remote access? If does not any chance to add in remote access feature with maybe using team viewer etc?

it gives remote access but in different way All is done via web dashboard. With web dashboard can you send packet down line to wake on lan as sometimes rig frezzes and locks up and have to remote system restart.

TEMPORORARY DOWNTIME of webservice only. (10 min) Rebooting server. (note that while rebooting, only stats and changing config wont work but your rig is mining fine and website down doesnt affect mining)

Would rather just be able send packet via remote command or ssh into n boot that way than having pay out for a device when you can already do this via Wake on lan. that The device you have is doing same sort thing but for 8 rigs instead. prefer to have my own control over something and not something else. Maybe consider in the future if this device becomes cheaper and shipping is fair too.

Right now you would need to forward 22 port of your rig and send commands to it. Or have one windows team viewer in this location. Managin rig from dashboard will be much later.
