Dev, our wallet stuck every day several times per day for last months. Every day we have to restart it in order to make it sync further. The time on our server is precisely correct and synced well. We are using version 1.2.8. Please, advise - this issue need to be fixed.
Sometimes we see something like that:
2017-05-14 08:07:45 SEVERE: Block not accepted
nxt.BlockchainProcessor$BlockOutOfOrderException: Invalid timestamp: 87026881 current time is 87026865, previous block timestamp is 87026844

Go to Burstnation.com and open a conversation with Crowetic, or another senior member.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I agree as people would get a quicker reply on there then on here. Plus more of the dev are on Burst Nation now and as that forum is very active, I'm sure it will only be a matter of minutes before they get a reply.

Burst has pulled back a little now and is a great time to get in as I'm sure it won't be long beofre the price starts to rise again. It will be interesting to see if 500 sats is the new floor for Burst which I'm hoping it is.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Guys, I started mining with 1TB HDD a week ago and my wallet crashed after the first 3 days. So I have not interrupted the mining since the wallet crashed and it looks like it is working properly - I am finding deadlines.
My question is - am I forging burst or I need the walled opened along with miner? I am pool mining by the way.

As a general rule for ALL cryptocoins (specifically including BURST), if you are mining to a pool you don't need a wallet to mine with.
You only need a wallet if you are going to solo mine
*OR* if you are going to set up your own pool
*OR* if you want to spend the coins you have earned and have not pointed your pool mining at an exchange address.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

nxt.BlockchainProcessor$BlockOutOfOrderException: Invalid timestamp: 87026881 current time is 87026865, previous block timestamp is 87026844

The SEVERE message just tells that someone found a block, with system time is too far out of sync, so the wallet/network does not accept it ... my experience is that this does not cause the wallet stuck, it is just a info.
What i can suggest is, ensure you use a 64bit java ... 'java -version' should say it is 64bit, else it is not. Also it is a good idea to ensure, that enough resources,    particularly memory is available.
If you keept your burst_db over several version updates ... it may be a good idea, to delete and re-sync it completely. If available you can active openCl support to do that quickly https://forums.burst-team.us/topic/751/howto-use-opencl-gpu-for-accelerated-snyc-with-blockchain
Thats all i can suggest for now, hope one of that ideas helps to fix your issue, hard to guess what could be causing it, as the wallets i maintain run smothly over weeks and months.

So, this is a kind of decentralized cloud storage or database like?

Why should someone use burst to store/archive its files?

Who does someone give the certainity to not delete/remove his hdd while he's mining burst?

O:

i'm feeling confused O:

Not to worry mate as Burst will get back up there once again and this time it might even break 1,000 sats. Burst is currently at 478 sats so your money hasn't dropped by half at all. Like people always say never put all your eggs in one basket and to spread your crypto portfolio around.

Burst is starting to head north again now over 600 sats and is worth even more in USD as the BTC price is over 2k. Exciting times ahead for Burst and I'm glad we are mining this coin while the price is rising as it's well worth mining Burst now. Hopefully the price can stabilize around the 1k sats range.

i think it can go to 1000 satoshi, investors are going to pump every small coin below 1000 satoshi i think, just look at siacoin and digibyte, burst is also in the same boat, better to hold for now and see what will be the top

Bittrex seems to want a "message" as part of the transaction to deal with BURST at all - definitely does so on deposits, never tried to withdraw BURST from them.

I want to understand the difference between mining by using hard disks (burst), and renting the empty space of the hard disk (storj). Is what both are based on the cloud storage project?

I've never deposited Burst into Bittrex but i have withdrawan many Burst coins from there and no you don't need a message to withdraw but we do if we want to deposit. As I have never deposited Burst coins into Bittrex I wonder if someone one here that has, what message do we put in to deposit Burst?

Bittrex generates both deposit adress and message.  Wink It's all in deposit section.

EDIT

Oh,yes,it's very important to uncheck "encrypt message" checkbox. Learned the hard way.... Roll Eyes

BURST has you write "plot" files with pre-generated data in very large quantities to your drive, then it searches a specific sub-set of that data every time it is told there is a new block to process for a dataset with the lowest "deadline".

Has nothing at all to do with cloud storage like Storj or Maid at all, and you can't use the potted drive space for anything else.
