Is this a forging wallet?
Yes, if your local machine is able to run the java server embedded in it.

Quote
Windows?
Yes.

You can forge using a web wallet?
No but you can forge with the server that has been released.

Ok, thanks
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

About forging, how much difference does it make to my forging rewards if I forge 24/7 as against,say,10 hrs a day?

For the first 48h it has been closer to 350HEAT/d with that stake. But surely, it will come down a bit. Everyone should be forging!

I use this line in a private browser
Code:

Heatledger cryptocurrency server.

To install and run heatledger you need Java JDK 1.8 or higher installed, note that JDK is different from standard java distributions.

On ubuntu we use sudo apt-get install default-jdk package. For other platforms please look here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

For configuration settings see the conf/heat.properties files in the installation folder.

We're working to deploy downloadable client + server package with graphical forging UI on github before the forging rewards start paying on block 4320.

Meanwhile another, still technical way to set up forging:

Get JDK SE from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
(Click accept license agreement radiobutton first)

Download and unzip https://github.com/Heat-Ledger-Ltd/heatledger/releases

Define your own apikey, can be whatever string of characters, in conf/heat-default.properties

Start heatledger (Linux) or heatledger.bat (Windows)

run from command line the following after first making applicable changes to it:

Code:
curl -k -s http://localhost:7733/api/v1/mining/start/this%20is%20your%20secret%20phrase\?api_key=defined_in_heat-default.properties

If you don't have curl, download from the curl site

Hey all, I'm the one running the current "forge report". I built it for myself to have a better understanding of the "ROI" for forging. If you have any requests/suggestions, let me know. I'll improve it in iterations as I have time. I'm a pretty small investor, but I've got technical abilities.

Gladly accepting tips at 7052876572805488467 if you enjoy the report!

@lurker10 I added my address to myPlatform, but I'd rather see you use hallmark. GET http://localhost:7733/api/v1/tools/hallmark/decode/__HALLMARK__ to decode and get 'address' property from there. You can get "peers" from GET http://localhost:7733/api/v1/peer/all/3?api_key=__YOUR_KEY__

HEAT node operators need to put the HEAT account id in the heat.myPlatform setting

That's cool, the script will reward hallmark weight too, as well as those who have no hallmark. You still need to have the heat.myPlatform though to identify the node to receive rewards.
Problem is there may be no sponsors. It looks like forging is a sufficient incentive to run nodes, their number has been growing.

looks like only 3 nodes w/ positive weight:
Code:
10432 185.12.44.108
6078  188.241.68.142
24    54.221.26.215

Hi guys,

Did anyone get the following output when starting?

Code:
http://localhost:7733/api/v1/mining/info/passphrase?api_key=blabla
[{"deadline":0,"account":"23498739847239847","remaining":0,"hitTime":0}]

Wonder why I see deadline 0 and hitTime 0...

So say I bought my heat on CCEX, withdrawal isn't allowed right? So is it worth even holding if I'm missing out on Foraging?
