anybody know why virwox is down?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

anybody know why virwox is down?

I didn't try until just now, but I can access the site.

Generally, when verifying if a site is down, there are tools to confirm that it is not just you:

it was only down for like 1 hour... maybe some server upgrade.
