Announcement: Tradehill is back

San Francisco, CA - Tradehill, the first American Bitcoin Exchange, relaunched
today. The first product from the refounded company is Prime, a digital currency
exchange for businesses and accredited investors.

We are excited to present a new way for businesses and high-end investors to
interact with the digital currency economy. Prime is intended to enable every
business in the space to have more professional, cleaner, faster and more
effective operations. Tradehill has benefited from close relationships with Mt.
Gox, Coinbase, BitInstant and BitPay. Tradehill will focus the next few months on
adding up and comers like Coinlab to the mix.

What Is Tradehill?

Tradehill, originally launched on June 8th, 2011, was the first Bitcoin Exchange
in America, and facilitated millions of dollars in Bitcoin exchange.

Tradehill shut down and returned client funds in January 2012 due to payments
fraud and regulatory uncertainty in the US. Tradehill was the first institution
in the Bitcoin market to hold millions of USD in user funds and process full
payouts. Every other Bitcoin company that achieved scale either lost money in a
hack or went insolvent.

The new team, led by returning CEO Jered Kenna and co-founder Ryan Singer,
includes engineering talent from Google, Cloudflare, and The Guardian Project.

Businesses and accredited investors can apply to join Prime starting today.
After the user's identity is verified, every client will receive a $75 credit to
test trading. Clients will be invited to fully activate their account with a
deposit of at least $10,000 USD, 200 bitcoins, or $5,000 in Mt. Gox codes.

API Documentation

We'll be posting the API docs on the site soon but for now here is a quick summary.

We currently have 2 API's and we'll be adding to them.

Our first API is proprietary and we'll post docs later.

Our second API is "Mt Gox style" and the docs are below:




Endpoints

The root URL is https://thbeta.com/mtgapi .  Please see below for the
endpoint for each call.

Where you see "BTC", you may supply any asset name that is traded on our
system (e.g. "XRP").

All arguments are supplied in JSON, and the Content-Type and Accept
headers should be set to application/json.

public (no auth required):

* get "/BTCUSD/depth/fetch"

* get "/BTCUSD/ticker"

private:

To authenticate, please obtain an API key and secret by clicking Profile
from the top-right dropdown menu, then use the MtGox API auth - see
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/MtGox/API/HTTP#Authentication .

* post "/generic/private/orders"
  Arguments: nonce

* post "/generic/private/order/cancel"
  Arguments: nonce, order

* post "/generic/private/order/result"
  Arguments: nonce, order
  Unlike MtGox, this will return trades to date even if the order is
still active.

* post "/BTCUSD/private/order/add"
  Arguments: nonce, amount_int, price_int, type, reference (optional)
  You *should* provide a unique reference, to prevent double placement
of orders.

The ability to add dollars to a trading account via ACH push is something that no service offers yet. Will Tradehill be able to add this?

Did all the prior customers get paid back then?  I remember hearing complaints a while back of people who had still not received their funds after months and months...

Also, how'd the Dwolla lawsuit turn out?

Paying back:  Most of the clients have been paid back. If you haven't gotten paid back send an email to claim@tradehill.com
I still get people that simply hadn't checked it in a year etc  I've got funds and I'm using them to make people whole.

Dwolla: It's still on going, I shouldn't comment too much on that.
I took a huge loss and it's been tough. I'd like to move on. Ideally we can settle it peacefully and I wish them the best.

Competition: Much needed, if one exchange does most of the volume then we're not very decentralized.
I've always enjoyed Bitcoin competition, nothing else like it.

We would like to. ACH is so reversible that it's understandable why no one in Bitcoin wants to use it.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: If it's legal, there's demand, it's stable etc then we will take a hard look at it and add it if possible.
For sure there will be other currencies added but I can't say what and when at this point.

Alternatively you can deposit $5000 from a Mt Gox code or 200 BTC
This product (Prime) is only for accredited investors and businesses.
We'll be adding  more products that target a wider audience as soon as possible.
We've spent more than 9 months planing and building so development will move quickly.
