How do we participate? Do we get coins for buying in? Usually I would buy gold than buy this but will make exception.

Buying this and buying gold is not the same thing.

To participate you have to register at http://rico.xaurum.org, then you'll have addresses to deposit BTC, ETH, LSK and XAU and you also can deposit fiat, XAU will be converted into XAUR at the rate of 1XAU=8000XAURs, other funds will be used to buy gold and mint new XAURs, which will be delivered to you once the RICO's over and the wallet available.

I've been trying to make sense of this, as I'm interested in an ICO.

It seems 'proof of gold' is comprised of an official-ish looking note from the 'import-export manager' of a Turkish gold refinery. ?!?!!?

What is the physical location for inspection.

Its somewhere in Turkey now (they mentioned the city but I forgot which) but its being moved to Sweden.

The main office of Nadir is in İstanbul. İts the biggest and most legit gold company in Turkey. The document is 100% legit. (BTW İ live in Turkey)

But they also use Loomis in Turkey to store the gold at the moment.

It depends on what you want to use to pay for your token. If you want to use any of the cryptocurrencies, copy the address and send the equivalent amount of either Bitcoin, Ethereum, Lisk or Xaurum to the address, your payment should reflect in the transaction tab after some time if done right.
