Why do you want to link identities to Bitcoin, because this would exclude a lot of people who would rather want to play this anonymously? I know it would be a great marketing tool to target specific individuals, but I still think Bitcoin Apps should protect people's privacy. You could still link people's phone numbers with the App, if you want to trace cheaters, but that should only be privileged information that should only be accessible to the game developer.

Let's not offer up our financial privacy, like people had to do with Ripple in the beginning. It will restrict your potential market. ^smile^

That's where the money comes from to get the money to the users. Business owners and contributors will likely want a certain demographic.

I don't necessarily want any names, just demographics that attract contributors to give away bitcoins.

Imagine a huge political rally happening in one location and someone puts out some bitcoins for all people who are libertarian leaning (based upon their Facebook likes and shares).

Or a new band with a certain style trying to get people to come watch them attracting people who enjoy their type of music.

Someone giving a presentation on home fire alarms might want to attract home owners.

Plus using Facebook, considering the distribution will be limited to a per person basis you can more easily weed out people who created a new account and only have a few fake friends. And you can give the option of posting on the person's wall "Jim Smith just made 50 millibitcoins on Bitcoin Chaser. Want to make bitcoins too? Click here.".

Location based games are the new hype or is this all because of Pokémon. Think it will be hard to developing such game if you don't know if it will get any succes also other games didn't had any long lifetime if they were Bitcoin related. Also mostly the games who pay in bitcoins didn't manage to keep people paying that mostly cause since Google started Bitcoin related websites/games banning there Adsense account.

simple concept for "bitkemon go (bitcoinpokemon)" you can sell your pokemon to bitcoin, you can buy pokemon with bitcoin.

This "pokemon go" thing is a goddamn madness. I can't stop playing it. I even play while i drive. I collect pokeballs and even catch pokemons while i drive my car. Complete madness.

Sad thing is, you can't oversuccess (can't even come close) pokemon by replicating another shitty app which use bitcoins. You may only have a chance if you somehow offer "sex" to your users. pokemon is downloaded more than tinder did in 5 years btw.

Pokemon is magic.

Please don't.

What would stop people from creating multiple addresses on multiple VPNs from taking all the BTC available at that location?

That's the point of the Facebook link. I would probably use something like amount of friends (and friends of friends) to pop up some alerts at the system admin level. I created a MUD back in the 90s that only allowed one character per person and I have a lot of experience stamping out duplicate users abusing the system.

Some part of this might also have to be allievated by simply making it very onerous for small reward.  Imagine that in principle it's possible, but say that you're dealing with hundreds of satoshis per, well, that's a lot of work to cheat for fractions of a cent.

Well we have seen many people draining faucets with very sophisticated bots and these small rewards did not stop them. One bot can create havoc and it is virtually unstoppable, if it is done right. I ran a faucet for a while and these bots cleaned my pool very quickly.

You would need someone to check this 24/7 and to react very quickly, when something like this hits them. ^sad^

Do you want to create a "Pokemon" game? You would need to get the trademark and many other things. Your game won't be as popular as Pokemon GO right now.

I would think about creating a game with a whole new idea involving bitcoin.

For one, people only like Go because there's pokemon. Secondly, the idea of getting paid will turn people into monsters. They won't play the game for fun, but for money. They may even bot for money. Also having variable locations is super hard, not to mention the manpower it will take to mark down every location.

Bad idea.
