Isn't that against the rules of both App Store & Google play ? I'm not sure.
Even if it's not , all the services and games out there go through Google API to accept payments so It's unlikely that this is going to happen unless Google play itself add Bitcoin which also unlikely since Google didn' t show any interest in Bitcoin since it creation.

Will be interesting because this game is breaking records on first days. But how it could work? Like a faucet, finding hidden bits, or using bitcoin for in-app buyings? There are some games that are similar to faucets, and didn't have problems with applestore or googleplay rules. But with in-app buyings it could be a problem with the rules of this stores.

Pokemon Go is the hottest mobile game right now and I am waiting for Niantic labs to open the servers in Europe for players because it looks like a very interesting concept of a game and I haven't played their other game Ingress so it would be a completely new experience for me. As for integrating Bitcoin with the app, I don't think this would be possible at all because both Apple and Google have their own payment solutions and they won't allow Bitcoin to even touch this app market of theirs when they can be pushing their own payment apps.

yeah. I agree. if a hackers hack Pokemon Go app and implement bitcoin into the game, it will break the rule, so probably bitcoin will get negative perseption.

and I think creating similar game containing bitcoin is better than hacking this Pokemon Go game.

Unfortunately that is impossible to implement it in the app. OmegaStarScream already metioned that google play and ios are not allowing bitcoin as payment.
It could happen if there will be a black market outside the app where we can buy ad sell pokemon go stuff using bitcoin.

I really dont understand why Google shows no interest in Bitcoin. Google typically is ahead of the curve in a lot of tech areas and this seems right up their alley - even if not doing any coding and only accepting as a payment option.
I have been playing Ingress for a few years now and when they started doing in-app purchases my first thought was Bitcoin however I doubt we will see that for quite awhile.

OP is just asking "What If". Well if Pokemon Go will integrate Bitcoin to their system it will be good result to Bitcoin because it will become more popular. Pokemon is also very popular game. I used to play old version of it in gameboy and i played also in my computer using emulator. Lots of pokemon player will use Bitcoin if this will happen.

Rather integration in the actual game, why make a standalone game that has also the same features as Pokemon Go like those the same features as flappy bird apps.

But you know it's not that easy to make a real time GPS navigaton game in-app and most of the people in the globe will not drained their battery because their GPS is always on then finding only small satoshis around.

The rewards must be high in any kind of bitcoin game application. If they will only earn a little no way it can boost the popularity of bitcoin.

I often wonder how the fuck a game like this with in app purchases of round $1 manages to deal with the fees associated with credit cards and traditional payment methods.  Definitely the sort of app where the owners would benefit from being able to pool a bunch of micropayments made via cryptocurrency and then settling them in a lump transfer into fiat through an exchange.

If that happens, it will be a huge help for bitcoin to get more popularity because you can see that even though the pokemon go is not internationally released, many people are waiting and some of them are willing to use their money just to get full experienced on pokemon go and if they use bitcoin as another mode of payment, i'm sure that most of them will get curious and start to do research about bitcoin and if they understand bitcoin it will result for a great amount of adoption .

It would be a good thing but I do not thing that it ever is going to happen because the difference between the people that make use of the Bitcoin and Pokemon go is to big.

Think about it. Right now, based on statistics, Pokemon Go is beating Tinder, Twitter, and Facebook Messenger. If everyone suddenly saw that Bitcoin is in the app, it would make them research about Bitcoin.

Pokemon Go has topped all game charts and is the most popular mobile game in all the countries it has been released in so far and caused the stock price of Nintendo to increase to 13%+ in a matter of days which is incredible in itself. However I don't think that Apple or Google will let people buy stuff in the game with Bitcoin because their app stores are a closed ecosystem where people can't use external payment methods and sadly I can't see Bitcoin getting included any time soon if ever. I think only Microsoft have allowed the use of Bitcoin in their Windows store though.

I really enjoy playing Pokemon GO,i like that they have connected idea of burning calories,with catching pokemons.
I think that it was really great idea,as we can see how much popular it got.
I would like to get some bitcoin involved in this game,maybe someone would make something different,but some game where

I'm not going to deny that, but not all famous personalities are actually paid. Some just really rode on the hype train and are serious pokemon fans as well. I'm not a famous personality so I don't have any say for them, but when Pokemon Go was first announced way back in 2014, I was really hyped for that.

It wouldn't be much of a difference for me. because The whole point of the game is travelling around so you can restock. if you were to buy those items . i doubt if it would have been much of a fun. at least it wouldnt be for me.
