Is Bitcoin designed to last forever?

Well I think that bitcoin is designed to last forever because of the updates embeded on it to be more accessible for future updates.  They maybe some new technology ahead but I think bitcoin will evolve as technology get updated.  There is also these people who are dedicated in Making bitcoin up-to-date and can give the demands of its users.

Bitcoin may be forward compatible, but its longevity is decided by the users and demand.
No matter what the technology is, if people are not convinced, then it is useless.

I do not think bitcoin was designed to last forever. It is just impossible, nothing last forever. In our time technologies change one another very fast and this process are getting faster and faster year by year. So I think bitcoin will go in past one day as well and that may happen not in a far future. Now bitcoin is kinda on the top of it's development, but after getting the top always are following the fall. So it's just a question of the time.

Nothing is permanent, even something as popular as BTC. Also, the amount of maximum BTC that can exist at any given time is set at 21 million, so if it reaches 21 million, BTC will lose/gain some of its value, but it will soon go out of circulation as the production will be stopped. Also, it can be banned by a country and it could lose its popularity and die. But, yes, it is unlikely that BTC will ever lose its popularity.

Bitcoin mining system were made to last several years, and now there is a timeline around 2100 where all bitcoins should be mined, after that the current system should move into fees to pay for the hash from the miners, or something strong. Some countries has banned bitcoin but hasnt affect at all the popularity, in fact those action has made bitcoin more popular.

Without internet and informatic, BTCs don't have reasons to exist, as it's a digital currency and only exists on the virtual world. If nothing goes very wrong with the world and the humanity, the Bitcoin can last forever for sure or at least its essence (the technology). At determinated point, this currency can be exchanged into another and don't exist anymore.

we will never know about the future, because the future is another mystery. if the entire bitcoin in this world only reached 21 million spread. it's good to be grateful for the existence of the current bitcoin. if keberadaa bitcoin has run out someday, it might take very much time to spend the entire amount of existing bitcoin. so this time we should be grateful because we can still get bitcoin.

agree future will always be a mystery, and there will be no one who knows the future of bitcoin will happen. very probably bitcoin could speak more in the future and it is possible that bitcoin die "if all users leave bitcoin" therefore bitcoin is not made for last forever dude. #imo

For bitcoin to last more than another couple years, transaction times need to be greatly improved.
This is the biggest drawback currently, in my opinion.

If we can get fast transaction times Bitcoin will be around a long time.
If another cryptocurrency can come to market with similar features and provide near instant transaction times without relying on a third-party application, it would definitely have the potential to replace BTC as the top coin.

Nah, it was to last a few years for a quick cash grab and that's it, of course when bitcoin was launched it was to be the idea of crypto currency and being open source then generations came after by copying the code or and learning from it.

Bitcoin is more of an innovative idea by the people and for the people.

and when there is a lot of demands the price will be up as hell

While having more coins in the system devaluates the other coins the truth is that the rate at which the coins are mined is slowing down and the price does not seem to be affected bi it so I will not worry at all to have the 21 million coins in circulation.

We don't know but we can know if it is going to be on a long road map. And that is going to be determined by us if it is still on its way for the future.

But if we will base on what is happening with bitcoin today, I can say that its designed to be used everyday and depending on the governments adoption.

Exactly, we the supporters who are giving life with bitcoin and as we see the price of bitcoin is growing it also reflects to its users. There is no doubt that the users of bitcoin are also increasing because the price is not a manipulation as we have witness now.
