Will this 50 post limit be lifted?
Moreso wondering because I was hoping to make business, not have to socialize or spam around. Sure, there are PMs, but when there's a perfectly good thread posted by someone waiting for a reply...

Um, i don't think you lowly noobs are granted permission to PM until you are an experienced spammer, sorry..

I think this is a good idea. Might keep people from inciting panic and all that, so yay.

Hey I guess it's just a pay for what you get type of scenario. Newbie help is pretty much free since guides exist and in the unlikely situation where a newbie has a question that hasn't been unanswered a mod or other people probably are asking and are willing to answer that question. That's the idea of bringing good topics into the main forums.

Well, I guess it depends on what sort of help your looking for. If it's for a random bug, which has never occurred ever (as in literally ever, not figuratively) I doubt anyone would already have the answer to this. Include the fact that few experienced people (aside from the mods) would actually come here to help, you're pretty much not going to be getting much support Sad

I think my prior posts speak for themselves.

Ironically, 'I agree'.  Cheesy

Bitcoin is the ultimate freedom test. It tells you who is giving lip service and who genuinely believes in it.

ATTENTION BFL MINING NEWBS: Just got your Jalapenos in? Wondering how to get the most value for the least hassle? Give BitMinter a try! It's a smaller pool with a fair & low-fee payment method, lots of statistical feedback, and it's easier than EasyMiner! (Yes, we want your hashing power, but seriously, it IS the easiest pool to use! Sign up in seconds to try it!)

I also agree about your point that the wild volatility  will scare off newcommers. That was the motivation behind me starting the thread asking if the exchanges should adopt breakers.

Lowly! *time to smite people in rage*  Angry
Seriously, not everything can be solved with PMs, it's a lot easier to get support from a thread with multiple people reading it than PM everyone you think can help Wink

Thats because communism ultimately is based off capitalism. The elites at the top are plundering even worse than capitalists.

You're thinking of crony capitalism.

The real problem is that it will piss off people who are really interested.

You're thinking of crony capitalism.

True, pure capitalism only exists in a textbook, as does pure communism.

In reality what we get is crony capitalism and crony communism. Big boys at the time are corrupt and plunder from the rest.

Actually TBH, I think that's an even worse as most people who join this forums and are reasonably active don't take 8 hours to reach 50 posts. Now, this promotes people to just leave it open as a tab rather than post (which could give an indication to moderator's that someone is a troll/spammer) which doesn't seem to me, to be that great.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask newbies to lurk for 8 hours before posting. Trolls can easily bypass it, of course, which is why there is also a post limitation. Hopefully mods will notice their spam before it starts getting out of this section.

too late for that. if they would moderate the other boards properly, and delete the trolls... oh shit, i forgot. that makes too much sense.

It takes alot of time. The newbie section is probably just short-term solution. Not long-term.

its rather obvious it was put together in 10 minutes of "brainstorming".

I would avoid all outside regulation, it could eventually destroy the freedom Bitcoin can offer.

I think this whole exchange thing started way too early and caused Bitcoin/dollar trade becoming far more popular than Bitcoin/goods trade.

If this Bitcoin price crash continues it might force big exchanges like MtGox scale back because their profits will also be cut to a fraction when the USD volume of the trade collapses.

True, bitcoin is pretty complex. I've learned alot about mining and how the system works even by lurking in the noob forum and posting stuff.
