Ok. I tried and currently mine for bitcoin but without dedicated hardware it is rather slow. (I am working on improvement)
I mine using GUIminer and do not have any issues with anything at this point.

I wanted to give it a try to check litecoins and here is where I am completely lost. Spent hours searching, reading, going through pool to pool. I am trying to mine using gpu and have no luck to find pool which would explain to noob lika I am how to set up client and start.

I had absolutely no problem follow slush's pool for bitcoin mining but for litecoins I have zero luck. Is there pool or somebody who can help me to get guiminer work and mine litecoins?

I would also be interested in this.
I'm not too sure of the process, would like to know if the hashing technique is the same.

Thanks, I checked all this and I am staying with scryptminer gui for a while as I needed to get new hardware before I even consider to start GPU mining. So for now I only have fun while in work and have free power with small cpu mining.

A Java front end was released a few days ago, so mining should be a breeze now.

How do you set up for CPU mining? Just download scryptminer GUI and join a pool?

I tried mining LTC last week and had no luck using GUIMiner.

Pretty frustrating, so I happily switched back to BTC.

I think a lot more people are mining Litecoin now the cost is 1LTC= $1.40 (as of writing).
My pool had 960 people online must days, now it's over a 1050 and climbing!  The KH/s as jumped about 100,000 WOW.
