Are BFL and Avalon the only games in town here?

What about building an ASIC machine?  What would it take to do that?  Are the chips readily available now?

Pretty much. And ASICMiner, you might be able to buy some shares from a third party...

If it was easy enough to just slap some chips together, you'd think there'd be more products on the market by now! Why do you think bASIC failed? It's not an easy venture, or something just anyone can do.

Yeah creating you own Integrated Circuit (ASIC   IC = Integrated Circuit AS= Application Specific) is quite a demanding task. It takes years of engineering experience or a special type of genius to do, not to mention a few $100K in engineering costs.

Yes Sage that's pretty much how Arbitrage Scams go.

You take money for a "get rich quick" scheme and invest it until the punter gets fed up of waiting for a return and asks for it back.
You then pay them back in whichever currency was devalued and skim the difference for themselves while all the time having a free loan for equipment/investment.

This is the reason there are consumer laws saying you cannot take funds until you can ship within 30 days.
