Will bitcoin still be there in 2020 or will some other technology better than bitcoin take over?

As long as people support bitcoin, but and sell it, trade for altcoins and vice versa. Many businesses operate on bitcoin and I don't think that they will bankrupt so easy. On 2020 is the next halving so I believe that until that time the price of bitcoin will be much more than now.

of course people will keep on buying and selling their bitcoins, in my opinion because of that the price of it is going to grow a lot in the near future and survive for centuries

Century has 100 years!! There are other technologies that have their impact on bitcoin indirectly, for example the quantum computers which are very dangerous if they are produced in the next decade, which can bruteforce mostly everything including private keys.

At least a couple of decades maybe more, but what we have seen today is not even a few percent of bitcoin's potential.
Bitcoin as a currency has a good future, bright if you compare it with today's currency's

Bitcoin now is becoming more popular because of advertisements and others. Actually im telling this to all my friends so they can know more about bitcoins. I guess bitcoin will still exist in 2020. Hopefully it keeps rising its value for every year of its existence. Actually bitcoin are accepted by many countries so no way bitcoin will vanish

Yes, for as long as there are transactions involving bitcoin, it will surely have a life. Therefore, like many of us are doing, we should continue to make bitcoin an alternative currency and keep doing our transactions, whether it is trading, buying, using for other payments and what have you. But, only mass adoption can guarantee a long, secured and stable life for bitcoin.

The thing that will kill BitCoin is the very thing it's corner stone is made of:  The Blockchain.  Having 100+ Gig on a portable device for day to day transactions is very unrealistic unless the price of high volume storage and lightning fast broadband every where cost fractions of pennies.

This literally makes no sense. You don't need 100 gigs for a mobile wallet. You need maybe 25-50mb for a decent wallet...not sure where you are getting this from. I haven't used the Core client in a long time but back when I did yes you needed to download the whole blockchain, but I have a feeling that was more for functioning as a node as well. Could be wrong on that, but today you don't need to download the entire blockchain to use a wallet.

It will depend a lot on how people will use it. We have also to consider that, over the time, different new technologies may emerge and Bitcoin would have to evolve as well. We can't really predict for sure, but I think Bitcoin has potential to be here for the next centuries.

Not sure how long Bitcoin is going to survive but I hope that it is going to exist for a long time because Bitcoin really has the potential to become something big.
So if they make the right moves and with some luck they can become really big.

if internet still exist in 2020, and people still using bitcoin to make transaction in cryptocurrency, then bitcoin will be still exist and maybe in 2020, the rate will be high as now. everything is possible and everything can happen as long as there are support for bitcoin from bitcoin commmunity itself and from people which using bitcoin for transaction and this will make bitcoin stay for longer than we can imagine.

I also think that bitcoin is still going to be around in 2020 but 2020 is not that far anymore. I wonder what the value of the Bitcoin is going to be at that point.
We just have to wait it out and see what is going to happen with Bitcoin the next few years.

Yeah 4 years left to 2020. The developments in bitcoin isn't like how it was a few years ago.

If we want to reach a great price point by 2020 we need to increase the developments in the bitcoin technology.

No one can predict this but I think it can survive very long and after a while it will not be surviving and more due to the fact that its becoming bigger and bigger.
Once on a time it will get stable and a global currency believe me.

Well, it's hard to predict how long will bitcoin survive but as long as people keep using bitcoin, bitcoin will survive. I think it's depend on the bitcoin user and the price of bitcoin.

The question is: Will bitcoin keep getting bigger and bigger and remain as the number 1 cryptocurrency?

yeah i think 10 years if bitcoin still alive and kicking it will continue more and if more adoption will come it will live long.. so for now just enjoy while you are collecting bitcoins here. the more you hold the more you can make a good profit in the future.
