I'm just seeing what the interest level and prices offered for these coins are. They are ungraded as of yet but I'm willing to get them graded if there is an appreciable difference in pricing. Of course, I will provide pics and verification for anyone interested. They are in very good condition. The 10BTC  silver without the gold BTC has remained in the airtight capsule and never been fingered.

Edit: The silver 10BTC coin is a 2012 minting, not 2011 as previously stated.

The 2011 1 BTC error coin is pretty sensitive to grading, there is a big difference in premium depending on the grade, for the lower grades then is there none-to-little gain.
The 2012 10 BTC (I believe it is a typo that you wrote 2011 for this one), is not too sensitive to grading, its more a matter of finding the right buyer.

As already pointed out, you need to get some pics up if you want some serious offers.

As much as I possibly can  --snip

If you literally mean this, then should you put them up for auction.

Thanks for catching my typo, yes indeed the silver 10BTC is minted 2012, not 2011.  I've posted some pics. Maybe someone could give me some advise on whether they are worth grading or not. Auctioning might be the way to go. Thanks for your input!

Most Some of us around here recognize and have seen for ourselves that grading is worthless.  I've seen enough coins and we have people who admit that they crack and regrade coins from the same grader to get higher grades so why pay more for them?  Some people like slabs.  And I guess the 70 grades are rare enough that it has got some bragging rights.  But you won't get much more for the effort these days.

You should auction one of your brass coins to see what happens.  Set a starting bid you are comfortable with.

I wouldn't say that "most of us" agree with this sentiment. Yes they did originally grade physical crypto artificially low and now that they have shifted their grading policy to what they use on every other coin older graded coins can be cracked and receive higher grades. ANACS isn't perfect but it is a good way to gauge the general quality of a coin especially when most sales here have to rely on a few pictures from the buyer where the angle it is taken at can change quite a bit and many blemishes can be hidden. At the end of the day yes, buy the coin not the grade but I would say that the number of times I have completely disagreed with ANACS grading is definitely the exception not the rule.

That being said, it might be worth sending in a few of your nicer error coins to be graded. If they grade MS67+ the price you can sell them for will go up quite a bit. The 10BTC is not worth getting graded in my opinion as historically the grade of these coins does not change the price very much and the logistics of insuring it to ANACS and back would be a pain. That being said, I would definitely bid on a few of your nicer ungraded error coins if you decide to do an auction  Smiley

I know that you feel very strong about grading and consider it worthless - I respect your opinion, but saying that "most of us" recognize and have seen that grading is worthless is not fair, not all of us is against grading. Actually most coins traded here are graded so that would imply that "most of us" give grading a value, so please respect that as well.

When that is said, you are correct that ANACS introduced a protocol for crypto coin grading in the beginning of the year which basically shifted the scale 1-2 grades up. I had a lot of graded coins in my hand over the last couple of years and I believe that coins graded in 2016 is reasonable consistent - in any case more consist than coins graded before 2016. Obviously ANACS is not running a charity organization and they want to make a profit - it is not a coincidence that the scale was shifted up and not down, since all coins prior to 2016 are now a candidate for regrading. Bottom line, grading (if reasonable consist) gives a value since it is a quick way to determine the overall quality of a coin.

Properly no need to mention; grades should never stand alone, they are just one of the parameters that a buyers should consider, always use high res pictures to evaluate the quality of the coin.

Cryptography is one of the few things you can truly trust.

Most of us around here

Name them. Then lets see if that really represents most. As always, those with a negative opinion shout louder than those with a positive or neutral view

You dont like, fine, dont like. That is your personal opinion, and I respect that, but your views dont represent me.

In my personal opinion ANACS grading still remains the best option for assessing relative coin conditions when not trading face to face. Its not flawless, but its the best option available.

Yes I think auction is the way to go. Put one up with some good pictures, and you will get a feel of what the others could go at.
I'd be interested too.

I agree that using ANACS when not trading face to face is by far the best measure of coin quality. While I do not think ANACS is amazing...they are at least a better opinion of condition than any of us can judge. Taking good pictures of these coins is almost impossible compared to seeing then up close and personal.
