it looks more like solo mining than pool mining  Undecided
if s/he stays there on his/her own it will take an average of 1.5 days to find the 1st Block with 400Gh/s by my calcs.
So now they have commited hashpower, will they  stay long enough to solve a block?  Roll Eyes

TRUST ME ! I AM MAINTAINER OF THE EXPANSE PORT OF THIS POOL.
Stratum and GetWork are seperated from Website, could be run on same server... if you DDOS website, mining still possible ...

Hello guys

Some updates on https://ethc.coin-miners.info/ pool , i just upgraded the wallet server for EU stratum to a server with 12 cores and 24GB of ram and added some visual stats on block page for the normal block and uncle block(the blue ones are normal blocks and the orange one are the uncle) , so there was a restart on eu stratum today (sorry about that) , now i hope we cand get a better variance per block and maybe some more miners will join.

Explain for this newbie... So lets say they get 51 Percent and attack etc.. So they say they can stop transactions.. But then what? Wouldnt they have to keep 51 percent at all times? What happens when they stop the attack. Wouldnt ETC just go back to normal?

Yeah they aren't very bright, they'd give to continue being the longest chain. Also I doubt they're bright enough to change the mining code to where it does damage vs just mining normally.

It looks to me like ETHF will cut it's own throat if they continue down this road of HF for everything, bailing out investors and themselves, and openly supporting attacking others.

As long as articles keep surfacing pointing out the ill intentions of those who are at the core of ETHF this will not end well for them.  I would think if they do carry out an attack that there should be serious discussions with the major exchanges about pulling ETHF completely.  They are after all attempting to disrupt the network ie disrupt the exchanges bread and butter.  A stern warning from some of the largest exchanges to the ETHF community and foundation should not be out of the question.

So this is http://51pool.org/#/    plan

The pool is connected to a geth node that is running. Currently that node is running a unmodified version of the geth with the support dao flag (to mine ETH instead of ETC).

Once there is enough hashrate, the pool will be directed to another node, which will then require a new DAG to be downloaded on each miner (will be automatic). This new node will have a modified version of geth that will deny any transactions (freezing every ETC wallet) and change the consensus to say the pools wallet account mined all blocks (even though another miner mined it)

There are basically two scenarios but with multiple outcome-scenarios:

1. They are successful with the 51%-attack

2. They are not successful

1.

a) If they should be successful in destroying ETC all ETC-supporters just come back to ETH and after some weeks ETH is back on track

b) ETH-Miners destroy ETC but they damage ETH's credibility even more.

I doubt that it would be a). I believe that destroying ETC will also damage ETH.

2.

a) If not successful it just stays how it is

b) If ETC-Miners should be able to defend ETC it could strengthen ETC and weaken ETH. Because also an attempted attack would most likely damage more credibility and an unsuccessful attack would seem weak.

Again I doubt it would be a).

So, both scenarios may not end well for ETH. And if they shouldn't be successful I can imagine what media will write about it.

Thats the lol here.....

Vitalik could make 1 post on bct to kill the whole rumor war ... He has not posted anything. Neither have the others.

One would think they would act in their own best interest....  To busy drinking champagne maybe.

They are not drinking champagne. More taking pills and talking to therapists. Whatever will happen to ETC, ETH is damaged and the team has lost a lot of credibility. The media-echo is bad for ETH, while ETC gets increasing support.

ETH is in a desperate situation, in all scenarios I can think of - just more or less - or more precise: bad or worse.

They have a second miner on the pool
I hope some ETH miners see what is happening and switch to mining ETC.
If you want to mine ETC you don't need to go to the trouble of running geth and wait to sync.  You can just join a pool, change your bat argument and mine to a web based wallet like MyEtherWallet.com

MyEtherWallet.com now allows you to set the wallet to ETC or ETH

https://etc.nanopool.org
is nice and stable and have real good help info
