TBH with all the eyes on this stuff going on, I'm sure there are people out there on the down low trying to find out who these guys are.  It would be the biggest story in crypto for the Journalist that can crack this case wide open.

Mega Jail time for those involved + crazyness if the ETH Foundation is found guilty of these crimes.

It seems like the story is breaking down more and more every day, eventually someone with enough resources will get tired of the game and release the info.

I don't think it's that big of mystery myself, all signs seem to point to the eth foundation/devs/robinhood/white hat scammers, maybe not all of them but there is definitely a good portion of them that were way more involved than people think. One minute this dude claims to be part of the white hats the next he claims he has nothing to do with them. Then they are the Robin hood saviors of crypto, then they are acting as individuals with buttering having zero knowledge of their actions, I mean come on dude. They tried to sell stollen coins. That means they aren't that smart and should be pretty easy to unravel the whole thing. So yeah...how about that fork lol!

Ok it is a type of Proof-of-Work.   So mining uses lots of power running memory.  GPU memory (in the case of ethereums) has to do all the work.  Some coins CPU or ASIC.  But in these cases you need to use up loads of power working out loads of equations (hashes) and submitting answers (shares) with your GPU.

In Proof of capacity you draw (plot) a table on a hard drive, USB stick, SD card, whatever, and “look-up” the answers(shares) to the equations (hashes) on the table you made.

Like the difference between a calculator and a "times table" (like: grid of  paper with numbers on it in columns).  Did you ever use Log books at school with signs and tangents for Maths?

Anyway, because it uses less power and just a bit of processing, some drive space and an internet connection, you can mine with a phone, laptop, tablet, server, desktop.  Anything that has some CPU, an internet conection and some drive space.

Don't know about all that eth is hanging themselves more and more daily, I can see etc doing really well in the future. We don't have the major downfall they do, someone in control willing to alter the chain, steal coins and play games in the name of what? Having too much money at stake? Getting caught trying to sell the etc masquerading as the white hats, which is a a total insult to all CEH white hats out there, should be enough to start shaking the smart people from the eth tree. If not they are just dumb and deserve to lose. That's just wrong and no one in their right mind will ever trust them again. We shall see I guess

It depends on the actions of the DAO hackers. If they donate to the further development of ETC, then ETC might succeed.
