What about our ETC DAO, is there any news?

There is no news. We are still waiting for the words from the DAO hackers. The fate of the ETC is determined by them.

i dont think its that important

its a satback  but nothing that could kill ETC. i do not understand why so many think the 3.6 mill are such a big problem

the white hat hack was 7.6 mill and did so far not hurt ETC .

and just look at ETC just a month old and there is a strong comuntiy, a dev team, a roadmap, wallets, gosh out of nowhere all this happened.

i am really impressed.

and we need someone for streaming lol

i would have loved to hear the meeting in london

I'm getting hit by heavy DDoS since the last 12h on different ports of my ETC pool, unsure who's the one behind it.

However, I've moved all the ports and parts to premium anti-ddos plans now and those DDoS'es should no longer be a problem, due to this, the Dwarfpool ETH-Proxy Port moved from etc.suprnova.cc:2222 to etc-eu.suprnova.cc:2222, I have a forwarder in place, but it's better if you just switch your eth-proxy to the new URL.

Thanks for your cooperation and sorry for the frontend blackouts during the last 12h.

@ocminer. The DDOS is surely from ETH supporters or even from the Ethereum insiders themsleves. They have invested millions. They will not allow to let ETC have a life of its own and potentially grow much larger then their chain.

The only way for ETH to continue is for ETC to die. If ETC is around the fork will never be a success. Why? Because ETC can treat it like nothing but a test chain.

ETH is not viable, the first definition of a blockchain is immutability otherwise it's just a database.

Sorry to hear of this ocminer.  Please keep us posted.  Are you just getting attacks on your etc addresss or are other coins you host effected too?

It's all fixed now since I've moved to upgraded plans for my ddos protection but it was sophisticated and targeted only to Etc...

Thanks for confirming. Nice to know you can respond quickly to issues.

bitpop is right, when we forked, they took the database, we took the blockchain.  If eth does not fail, crypto has failed.

Me too!   There were more watching online than at the venue.  What a missed opportunity for London to reach out to the RoW.  Just some slides to show for it.

You are spot on about the Dao hack funds.  I just wished more people saw it that way.  People let emotion rule over mathematics.  That's why polo have a trollbox.  They take advantage of those that can't do the Maths. The ones that dream of getting rich overnight.

@longsnowsm do you trust ehtermine.org's pool?  Hmmm....  they laughed at you hay?  That tells me they will be laughing at people mining at http://etc.ethermine.org/ Laughing all the way to the bank no less.  Well, I don't trust them.  Plenty of pools that are behind etc.   Cheesy

To be fair, it wasn't the pool operator that was laughing, he strangely said absolutely nothing other than they didn't have plans to support ETC at the time.  It was the ETH forum members that had the negative things to say.  So apparently we are winning!

Ethermine.org decided to launch an ETC pool so we have gained a lot of traction.  However their silence on the ETH forum and the addition of ETC speaks volumes.  The only reason I brought this up is that I used to mine on that pool and liked it.   Now I am hesitant to try them again because of this.

I see OCminer has been battling to keep things going on Suprnova.  My earnings rate really has dipped there so if I don't see a bounce back today then I will consider moving again.  I know the pools have bad luck at times, and stuff happens, but I can only ride in one place for so long if the earnings appear to be coming up short of what I expect for my hash rate reported by the miners.

@greenuser, do you mine other coins in addition to ETC?

I understand that, but that "move" is probably exactly what the DDoS'er is/was aiming for Smiley

I don't see any problems in at the pool that could explain your dip, the hashrate is/was stable, the stratum ports are working fine, only the eth-proxy stratum had issues while there was a ddos for the last 12h but it's fine now again.. So you shouldn't see any dip at all if your hashrate is stable. Check your "Statistics/Graphs" Section on the pool to see if there are any dips.

I agree with ocminer.  Morover: pool hopping will lower your luck even further because of the lost time in taking to start returning shares again.

@Longsnowsm you are talking forum.ethereum.org yes?  And i'm mining 6 different coins at the mo it think?  I mine Groestlcoin with supranova.

I'm mining ETC with nanopool.  I am mindfull about having all eggs in one basket. Remember: etc cannot put all its haspower in one place and still be decentralised and resistant to attack..  There is enough cake for eveyone to get a slice
